Evo X MR owners

What mode do you drive in on a daily basis? I drive mostly highway in Normal mode, fairly non-aggressive, and am getting around 19 mpg. Isn't that a little low?
Your experience?

I am getting approx 22mpg right now, although my route to work is mostly highway, and I am taking it easy because I just finished breaking in the car.

I drive in normal mode, switching to sport or using the paddles if I want some quick gear changes. I haven't used s-sport yet, but plan to tomorrow now that my car is at 600 miles.

19 mpg is about average, I can sometimes get about 22, if I'm lucky. The car is my DD & it's some freeway driving, low speed city driving & a bit of highway driving. I usually have my car in Normal mode & kick it into Sport & S-Sport a few times in between fill ups (typically once a week for me)

I am coming from a modded 2005 STI that I drove hard and got 18 mpg consistently. This one it seems we all drive in normal mode and are taking it easy because if we don't, we can literally see that gas meter go down every time you push the car in sports mode!
The other problem with sports mode is the engine is doing a lots of shifting to keep revs optimal, but most times I don't need it to, so the only way to overcome that is to paddle shift. However, it is hard to mentally go back and forth between auto shifts and manual shifts.
I am at 600 miles now. It will be interesting to see what millage we get if left in sports mode all the time, but driven normally!

Getting about 21 on the freeway in normal mode.......I usually drive in that. Hit sport mode when I'm not on the freeway or when I feel like getting on it ..

I haven't gotten my Evo yet, but on my Outlander I noticed that I get better mileage on the highway if I shift the car myself and leave it in sport mode. I only down shift from 6th if I really need to as opposed to the auto mode going back and forth from 5th to 6th. That is obviously if I am driving conservatively. The best I've gotten is 24mpg, usually average 18 - 20. Try it out and let me know what you guys think.

18-20 mpg is unacceptable for a D/D. Save your X for track days, and buy a Yaris or used civic for the weekday commute. The money you save in gas a month may equal a car payment!

I take public transport to work. I hate commuting with the zombie patrol. I care too much about my car to risk losing my rear end to some text-messaging driving deject...

Even if you are in cruise, you will peak about 22-24mpg, even if you don't touch the gas. GSR is the same.

gas mileage on those things are terrible. i don't get much better in my IX MR either though. the only thing i don't like about the car. i am driving 160 miles ONE WAY to work right now until i move, and i get about 22-23 mpg driving normally, usually at speeds between 80-95. even driving 70 the whole way i still only get around 23mpg. it really sucks because in my accord i got 32+ i'm looking for a used civic right now to drive back and forth to work. the gas savings will pay for the car.

Today I left it in sports mode and shifted manually. I believe it was more fun this way, but the motor is quiet and if the music is blasting it is hard to know when to shift unless I am constantly checking the revs. However the little hesitation in downshifts is completely gone in the sports mode.
Any super sports mode users yet?
