I like it a lot, but the only stipulation I would have is for it to have some sort of styrofoam pad that could go over it to give a nice snug, wobble free front bumper fitment. I had an STi and I put a gruppe n front bumper beam in it and the front bumper sagged after installation because it didn't fit snugly against the inside of the bumper like the factory piece did. I had to getto rig it by using zip ties to try and eliminate the gap between the bumper and fenders and I am not going to so anything less than perfect on my X.

We're waiting on a pad we ordered to use with the X. The bumper will indeed wobble a bit if its not a snug fit . For the X we'll have a direct fit bar with bad ready within the next week .

How much does it weigh? What is the thickest IC it can accomodate? How much would it cost?

Yes, weight comparisons as well as one important question; will this piece offer any increase in chassis stiffness when compared to the stock piece?

Having own a BodyShop I've had the opportunity to get a great understanding of todays Uni-body designs and the dynamics of the metal movement which translate into the movement and weight transfer of a modern Uni-body car . The stock piece does not link the top section of the car and its lower more stiff rails which are stiffen even more due to the engine cradle . Under hard cornering the top section of the car will move ! Thats why we see all evos come stock with Strut tower bracing and why many will upgrade that piece as well . A piece like this will aid in keeping the front " X" center point of the car true which will give you better handling . The "X" point will be the front boxed shape of the car where the radiator and AC condenser sit . You take this section go from each corner point to the center that give you your X point - when this point is kept true that means the front section of the car has minimal movement .

How does that work with adding some weight on the nose? Also like to see if it causes oversteer what the computer might think of it.

For street guys... How would this effect airbags?

I just picked them up and actually the stocker feels to have just a bit more weight so no it WILL NOT apply .

And ZERO issues with airbags , the airbags are ran off an independent system which has nothing connected to any of the crash bars . The sensors sit inside the engine bay about 18" away from the crash bar .
