evo x winding noise???

just wondering for all the evo x owners out there. i just got mines about 2 weeks ago, only have 400 miles on it, i drove it without the radio on and windows up, wanted to hear how the engine sound. By doing so i notice a winding noise when the engine is slowing down to 1k rpm. Dont know what or where that noise is coming from. I dont think its the engine because when im outside and i rev my car i dont hear anything. But when im inside the car and silent i hear it when i rev? Anyone else experiencing this? So when you rev the car, there is the engine noise, then it seems like there is a winding noise, kinda like a small scooter noise? My car is definitely under warranty, its just i wont be able to take it in until friday. Any help would help. Thanks

Audio related noise? Try turning off your audio completely and see if the noise is still there.

its not the radio. the radio is shut off, i didnt unplug the radio, but its not on. i know there is a high pitch noise from the radio from time to time, but this winding noise is not high pitch. its sounds like a scotter, or like those flash light where you have to whined yourself to get power.

Stupid Comment....so he should go buy a bmw because he is trying to identify a noise his car is making. Your comments are unnecessary and off topic.

I'd say turbo or pull in your mirrors and see if it goes away. They 04-07 STi had a problem with wind/mirror noise.

Sounds like you're describing the spooling of the turbo. It's kinda high pitched, almost faint.
