Upgrading to SSS

Okay well I should have ponied up the money for the SSS. I just got the high wing from a friend, but i have no idea how to get the HIDs. I didnt get fastkey cuz i thought perhaps it wouldn't work with an aftermarket alarm. Im going aftermarket for the stereo so i dont care bout that. Anyone know how to get the HIDs and maybe the fastkey? If not from mitsu then maybe aftermarket on the HIDs but ones that work right and dont blink?

as far as HID's go it depends on how far you want to go, there are a few options.

1. buy SSS headlights, pretty pricey if you go thru the dealer.

2. buy an aftermarket HID kit, i've heard ppl have had problems with it staying on because of the DRL's. Not sure if there is a fix for this. Also lights will not be as focused, the halogen headlights were not designed for HID's.

3. Go aftermarket with a company like lightwerkz. They do amazing work with retrofitting projectors, pretty expensive as well, but im sure not as expensive as SSS headlights, also not sure if there would be a fix for the DRL. Lights will be the same if not better than the SSS headlights.

As far as fast key im not too sure, you might be able to talk to the dealership about getting it installed. hope this helps

This is like those questions on other forums "I bought an auto and wish I'd gotten the stick. How much will it cost?"

I honestly think you'd be better off getting a car with SSS if you want the fast start. There are a lot of pieces to that system (brain, antennas, door handles, button on the trunk, fobs, etc.) and you'll spend more than $2k retrofitting it.

HIDs you could likely get an HID kit for $140 and get somewhat ok results.

Yes I have it.

HIDs: worth it
FastStart: Mostly worth it (wish it was a button not a turn nobbie)
Stereo: I upgraded to Nav and the sub is pretty crappy for an audiophile and takes up a lot of the trunk
Wing: It's not an Evo without the Wing! (unless it's an RS of course)

definitely worth it for SSS. HID's are so much better than halogen, fastkey is very easy to use, stereo is good, and big wing is a must on an evo. now for upgrading to navi...

sigh, well the big wing is on its way. I dont care about the stereo cuz most of the dealer/aftermarket combinations suck and are what the companies crap out and overprice. I will have a great system through the aftermarket. I can live without the comfort of fastkey. I just want the HIDs

are you gonna be adding that big wing to the stock (base trunk with the small wing) on it cuz i heard that it not stable with that trunk if you gonna add the big wing on it the holes are not in the exact spot this is what i heard

I will most likely have to plug up the smaller wholes and make new ones for the bigger wing. Im not sure what you mean by unstable tho, can you detail? Anyone have further insight on this?
