Is the M3 a sedan? If not, that answers your question right now. Get the car that's just as fast/fun to drive with 4 doors.

And if you loved your Subie, get the new STi, I love em. If I had waited to buy the Porsche I may have ended up in one instead. Okay... probably not, but it would've been high on the list.

If the M3 is a sedan, post some pics on here of how "crappy" the interior etc is/are. I imagine it isn't as bad as you say, and if it is, I'd get out... An 05 luxury car from BMW should not have a crappy beat up interior. My interior on the Porsche is still prestine.

If it meets the others above, and has a better interior than you think... Then keep it. I'd much rather a fast luxury car over an Evo any day.

Good point. So you're recommending the new STi?

While the trunk is small it will fit my golf clubs no problem so I would think a baby stroller should fit.

What kind of things are important to you? Mods, interior, handling, etc? If you give us that kind of info then maybe we could help you out.

I am a former owner of a 06 STI and Bmw 335i and I have to say that I am enjoying the heck out of my new MR X. Those other 2 cars felt faster but the MR just feels more competant in the twisty's. On the track the Evo is faster than the Subie according to all the reviews out there.

The interior is head and shoulders above the IX and the 06 STI. The Recaro's are very supportive and somewhat comfortable for longer drives. The quality of materials is definately better in the X than past EVO's. I haven't sat in the newest STI but it looks like the interior is better than in the past. Also the Rockford Fosgate stereo kicks the STI butt as well. jmho

i could not speak for STI as i have not test driven one.
On the other hand X is tight, much better interior design compare to previous evo style, but surely i did appreciate the performance of my viii on its current set up.

All of the advice is very helpful. I've been looking at the X's in the show&shine threads and am becoming more convinced this is the route I want to go. I'm not into the new STi (not because I had an older blobeye), I'm just not crazy about the hatchback look.

The exterior styling on the X is awesome. The bimmer will never be as clean as a new X, and if I pick up a X, I'll have a clean slate on which to start modding . Now, if I could only commit to a color.....

The interior isn't going to sway my opinion one way or another. To me, an interior is an interior. As long as it's clean, I don't care all that much. I am glad to hear that it has improved over years past though.

Does anybody have any experience with shipping? The dealership here won't go less than ~$37k for the only gsr on the lot. And I see South Coast and Don Herring are significantly less. South Coast had some listed in the sub-$33k range.

The mitsubishi will never run anywhere near what the m3 costs to upkeep. They require 12.00 per quart dealer only castrol 10w-60 for crying out loud.
