touche'... but a 6'th gear WOULD be nice

the 05 Srt gets about 6mpg on the street, but it runs a 10.7 (so, not exactly stock).. and no, that's not on street tires :P

the 06 gets 10-12 on the street (it's pretty much stock though) I've never run it, but I'd guess it runs about a 13.8

I can't tell you how many times I've put the clutch in to shift to 6'th and realized ... oh yeah... I forgot... no 6'th .... it's not a big deal but it still seems silly that they put in a 5 spd... actually I've only had the car a day and a half... I think I've done it 4-5 times already LOL

Congrats on the purchase! I agree about needing a 6th gear. It would be nice to have in the GSR's, cruising around at 70mph @ 3500 rpm is a downer. As for a sunroof it would make the car more top heavy and would completely be countrerproductive to the aluminum roof that the car comes with.

You still have the M5?

i never understood the 'rice' label for the wing. it's there for a purpose. and it's always been a part of the evo.

a: I didn't realize the roof was aluminum... but the idea fits that of the Z06 and M6's models of no sunroof... still I like em
b: I had the M5 from september of last year through april of this year... I had to get rid of it once I bought one of my trucks

and Tomato... I don't know the rice label either but I will say this
a: it didn't look good on the superbird in the late 60's and it doesn't look good now (course that's just my opinion)
b: too many 20 second civics are running with wings (which makes it ricer)
c: i'm fairly convinced that (atleast on my truck) the wing does nothing but slow it down... want proof... here's a link

http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u...rent=Mike7.flv

notice something?? no wing?? wanna know somethin else... 10.73 that's the fastest the truck has ever run... it currently has a wing... therefore I can conclude that wings are bad :P

Realistically if you look at the wing it doesn't appear to be designed for downforce (if you look at wings on other vehicles) with that you have to ask yourself a few questions.
1: Do Nascars have wings?
A: No, not typically but they do have foils and those wing breaks
2: what about F1 cars do they have wings?
A: Yes of course, actually 2 front and back, but they TRAP air for downforce, it's totally different

I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea.... do they serve a purpose... yeah well... they might... but on the street they do next to nothing... and on the track you'd want something to provide more downforce and better flow anyway....

besides, having worked for Boeing Space & Defense systems, I can tell you the word wing usually implies something to provide lift... so I have an issue with the hole terminology in general anyway...

Lastly, yes, I'm a sarcastic critical verbose bastard... that's ok... you'll get used to it... and take what I say with a grain of salt anyway :P
