July Sales: Evo X sells 357 units
One key piece of statistic missing from the OP: Mitsu is down 21.3% year to date. The only one doing worse is Chrysler. July was the first month when sales were just bad and not horrific. When Toyota sells as many Priuses in 6 months as you sell TOTAL VEHICLES in a year, it's time to make some changes or shutter the doors.

Chysler isn't the only co. doing worse
Saab is -30.4 Land Rover is -31.4 Bentley is -27.9... granted those markets are considerabally smaller...
Mitsubishi has a few problems
1: their marketing is laughable to say the least... Subaru's big claim to fame is the 5 star crash test... I don't know that I've seen a mitsubishi commercial in the past 5 years let alone an Evo commercial... it's almost like mitsubishi doesn't care about the market here... most of us could throw a commercial together in about an hour with regards to how much our cars RULE...
2: Mitsubishi's car selection is grim to say the least, they didn't hop on the truck bandwagon like nissan and toyota, their suv's were poorly deisgned and looked like boxes... and do they even have a hybrid car??? or not even a hybrid, something that can compete with a yaris??
well I just looked at the chart and what you said isn't quite accurate

I don't think Mitsubishi really cares about US sales, either. They way I think about it is, Mitsubishi is such a large, global corporation, that MMNA sales is probably a very small fraction of their overall business model. Think about it, they've got Mitsubishi all over the world, Heavy Industries, Financial Services, all kinds of different companies. They're probably content with taking a loss with MMNA just to have an American presence.
They make some killer HDTVs too.

how does my logic suggest that? think about it, most IX's are sold already so theres a small amount to spread out for 9 months in 07. Mitsu is just sugar coating the numbers, using YTD of a year where almost all evos were sold out and a July 07 figure where you couldnt even buy a brand new IX.

i think that they really f'd up the mr this time around they should have at least released a six speed as a option. the sst version is cool but for ppl like me who want to control the car through a true manuel they should have released a six speed option. mitsu is messing up i was at the dealer the other day and saw the new eclipse and it is one of the most ugliest cars i ever seen. every thing they are producing is with the sst which is gonna turn away alot of car enthusiast in which they use to carter to and were known for. the good cars that they had they got rid of. they cant expect the lancer and evo to save their company on top of that they have bad customer service at the few dealerships that they do have in the us
