Purchasing Evo X MR...but there is a catch!

Would you guys feel comfortable buying demo evo X MR from the dealer?

It has 1000 miles on it, seems a lot of miles on it for a demo car. I am sure lots of people test drove this baby...I am sure they didn't follow the break in period....but if the price is good enough, would you buy it?

Depends on the overall condition of the car. Did you drive it?

I would be cautious with any demo...

and I personally would be very wary of an MR with a first year SST tranny... look at the problems BMW had with SMG and SMG-II.

The MR is not a car I would want to own out of warranty.

I didn't test drive the car.

Exterior seems to be in perfect condition, but who knows what's going on inside.

They mentioned going below invoice price on it.

Below invoice is not bad, but I would suggest calling South Coast & asking for pricing including shipment. If it's only an extra $1k or even $1.5k for what you want, but nearly no miles... go new. Check here: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/mits...8/options.html to see what kind of a deal (invoice) you may actually be getting.

i guess it depends on how below invoice they would go. it is a used car now.

i would entertain the south coast idea. you'd thank yourself later for buying spanking new.

I wouldn't pay more than $1000 under invoice, and would have an extended warranty and lifetime oil change thrown in, AND have a 10 day unconditional return clause written into the deal. If they don't agree to that, keep walking...

HELL. F'N. NO.

Don't do it. Unless you get 60% off, it's not worth it. You'll drive everyday wondering just how bad it was beat up and the dealer will never say "Yea, we smashed around all day".

They'll just tell you people drove it normal. Freakin' liars.

Are you referring to the white MR out front at All-Star Mitsu in Sayreville, NJ? When I took a test drive for a GSR (the sales guy just took it for a spin since I'm learning how to drive stick), the guy didn't beat on the car at all. He drove like a b*tch and kept missing shifts, but he didn't beat on the car. 1,000 miles is a LOT though, so I'd be wary...

I would def not buy it, but it's your call.

Not a chance. On my test drive, I took it pretty easy but my friend drove the snot out of it and it only had around 130 miles. The good thing was at least I got to feel how strong (or not) the car was.
