Ahhh!!!! Don't use paper towel...:-( Fibres in it scratch the clearcoat/paint and leaves swirlies!!! I keep a spray bottle of Z7/water for really quick spray on and wipe off tasks. Always use something to "float" the dirt/scuffs instead of just wiping it when its dry!

i had the same problem on my x. i got out of my car at the mall..and i poof ..no paint...just buy some touch up....instant detail the area..clean any lose paint..and touch it up..and clean off any excessive touch up paint and clear coat on the other side. it took me 2 hours to apply my touch up paint.. you can even see it!!

 

If those are your pictures, i hate to break it to you buddy but you have the aero kit.

 

Sorry to break to it to bud I Do Not have the aero kit that's how far they stick out.

Well since i can't prove it From that angle it looks like the body kit.

 

I do a lot of detailed waxing on the car would that have anything to do with the thinning of the paint?

 

Just buy the aero kit - that'll cover it right up!

From what i read somewhere in here can't remember, it goes over the stock stuff.

 

r u serious? I have the aero package and my side skirts look jus like yours. r u sure you know what you got when you bought the car? that is the aero side skirts you have

 

That's what i said, the stock evo doesn't have any lip like that, it is very small. Even on your avatar it looks like you have at the minimum the side skirts. Can't tell the front lip cause of the darkness and resolution.


Hey OP if you can take a picture of the rear tire area so it shows the rear quater panel bottom and the rear door bottom like half of it.

 

Do the aero kits come from the factory or are they dealer installed?

 

That's what I asked then someone jumped on me. I'm 98% positive it looks like the original poster has the aero kit cuz that's a lot of flare.
