The two dealers in North San Diego Co changed to Hyundai and Mazda recently. I think there are only two remaining for the 4-5 million people in the region. The one I bought my GSR from was clearing out the mitsu inventory with minimal haggling at the time.
It has been a good car so far, but I would seriously rethink another product from Mitsubishi due to the next dealer being 30 miles away. At least their service business is popping (no competition).

I've seen two Mitsu dealers come and go in Clearwater, FL. Luckily, the Buick dealer in Palm Harbor took the franchise (their service advisers said that they get good business off Mitsu cars) . I've also seen Billy Young Mitsu in Killeen go out of business, but the franchise was picked up by Automax.

motors corp doesn't have as much hold back profit and incentives for the dealers. Hyundai is now the 5th largest automaker in the world. They have a lot to offer and you could make a good bit of money selling those..A lot of dealerships have chosen to change their signs because of the whole business plan.
Maybe the remaining
dealers will do well with their mini-monopolies and not pull up tent stakes.
