You guys complaining about the warranty... brings back memories from when I bought the first of the evo 8's, everyone was so worried, bottom line is if your problem is legit, and not something you initiated, you won't have a problem, period. And if you think subaru's the angel here, you should go over to the nasioc boards and see what they have to say, same sheit over there... its no different.

And if you bring your evo in after 2k miles with a fried clutch, hate to say it but its your OWN damn fault. Learn how to drive AWD, plain and simple.

The lack of a sixth gear makes it a less than optimal car to drive long distances and the interior is still bargain basement but otherwise, it's a fantastic car that never fails to entertain me.

I'm a potential buyer for either a new X MR or a 335xi (need the awd for the winters) and there are quite a few positives in the BMW category.

1. It's a BMW. Compare that to the boy-racer image that the Evolution will always have (unless they stop putting the ungodly wing on all cars as standard) and it's a clear win for the bimmer.

2. I'd much rather deal with BMW than Mitsu on the issue of after sales service, support, and warranty. I've had nothing but headaches dealing with Satan and their draconian viewpoints on car modifications and maintenance issues.

3. The fit and finish of the BMW is _light years_ ahead of the Evo. With the price increase on the new X's, I don't see how anyone in their right mind wouldn't view the BMW as a bargain for performance and luxury considering that everyone is agreed (as I am) that the Evo has stellar performance for its price, even with the continual price creep. I really struggle to see how people are satisfied with the Evo's new 'upgraded' interior. It still feels cheap and flimsy compared to the BMW, where everything screams quality.

4. I can walk into any BMW dealership and take out a 335i, 335xi and drive it around for a bit to get a feel for the car. The Mitsubishi dealership I went to has a very special place in their heart for the Evo and though they assured me that they would let me drive it, I hate being treated like a freewheeling stunter when I walk on the lot. I understand that these salesmen are used to 19 year olds trying to get joyrides, but they need to recognize the difference between a qualified buyer and poser.

I could go on and on, but I've got other things to do....

Glad you guys like your X's. I'll be interested to see just how deeply Mitsu does their financing cuts and so forth. Especially considering that BMW was doing 0.9% on all 3-series for the month of August. Just another case where Mitsu is behind the curve I guess.

This is my dilemma as well...335i or Evo X both great cars and mods are cheaper for the X but hey 335i has a great interior better gas mileage and ect. this is tearing me apart everyday I switch my mind 335i or X. I am into Nissan 240SXs and when I go to the meet where everyone has an import I am like f*ck yea X will be the **** and then when I go to see my friends M3 I am like wow this **** is crazy beatiful , he has a widebody M3 with some crazy as mods and he daily drives it.

it sounds like everyone is pretty happy with the x... but is anyone bummed on the lack of cargo space? im 99% set on getting a x but the only thing holding me back is that the seats don't fold down and i surf about 4 times a week. i dont really wanna put racks on the x so im forced to think about an sti which could haul all my stuff. whats your opinion?

In other words, a SSS GSR is really the sweet spot for this car. The MR is just simply too much for too little.
If you know where to look, you can find an Evo 10 for about the same price of the Evo 8 when it was new.

No way in hell the 335xi has better gas mileage. The wife has a 328xi, and I get better milage than her. Maybe the 335 can take an X in a drag race, but I dare anyone in a 335 to follow me up the twisties... I'll call the wrecker when I hit the next town to pull them out of the ditch

a medium sized turbo = high tq vehicle in my book.

I switch between my cobra and GSX (FP3052) and the rush of a turbo is a great change from the slam of a supercharger with tons of instant torque.

Both cars are great...the next concern for you is space & cargo....I think you already know the answer....I hate to say this, but for your sake--go with the STI although...I love the Evo

I still love it...although I wish that I drove it more. Maybe when it has more power I'll be compelled to drive it more.

Visibility might force me to get rid of my beautifull GSR. I mean i understand low center gravity but its rediculous that everytime i cross lanes i am afraid that i am going to bump in someone.

what would you rather go with for that price range? TSX? IS250? yea i didn think so... if you are a previous evo owner...
I couldn't agree more. Although I love the car I hate the price that I bought it for back in February.
