I also notice it helps to illuminate the sides of highways and dark roads lined with grassy areas and forests. Since there are lots of deer around here, it is a good measure of safety.

yeah...part of the point of the raised cutoff is so you can see signs to your right of the road. it's not about not blinding people - that's the point of the projectors itself.

in places like uk and jp, where the traffic flow is reversed, the raised cutoff is actually to the left, so the driver can see the street signs to the left of the road.

I currently have my level to 0 and is there any way to make the beam a little bit higher? I can't seem to figure out the philips driver thing adjustment.

+1 do you need a thin long screw driver?

^ or use a 5mm or 5.5mm on the nut at the back of the housing, i found it easier to adjust than using a screwdriver

if you're on a dark road you can raise the beam height, or if you're carrying something heavy or towing sometime you can lower it

I'll try to remember to take a pic of it tonight.

I'd also be curious to know if it's opposite on a right hand drive car.

... Back to Q15H's question, is there an adjustment for left to right? I don't have the overlap as shown in the OP pic, I have somewhat of a gap (dark spot )in the middle.

Seems to be the way most makers do HIDs. My wife's 328xi is the same way...

The lights in the Evo are definitely unique compared to other cars. My girlfriend always tells me she loves how my HIDs aren't so annoyingly bright, because of the way they are aimed.
