New Evolution Color Choice?

I am 95 percent going to pick up my new evo today, an X GSR (trading in my 04 Evo GSR). Only thing I am struggling with besides deciding if 400 bucks a month is too much for a car (i can afford it no prob but still a big decision) is the color. I am deciding between Graphite grey and Rally red. I think they are both awesome colors, and originally i was going to get the graphite grey because I am a long time black car lover and i wanted to change and grey was the next in line as far as dark colors, but the red looks amazing. My only problem with red is they attract far too much attention with cops and I think they are more for insurance because of it too??

ANyway it is basically a coin flip with me so what does everyone think, im sure you guys have all seen both colors as well.

Don't let the red car/cop magnet thing get to you.

I've had 3 red cars, 1 black car, and 2 silver cars. All of my tickets were in the 1 black car.

Yes, red is more noticeable, but if you don't drive like a jackass it won't matter.

Get what you like.

Most insurance companies do not charge more for exotic colors like red. Cops pull everyone over, regardless of color.

I find the RR on the X to be disappointing. GG would be my choice, but in the end none of what we say is going to sway you. Your decision is your decision.

I don't think that is true, I could very well be swayed by you guys, otherwise I wouldn't have posted this. I am at this point as I said at a coin toss on the color I really like both, so any information or just pure opinion in quantity of which color is better will aid me in my decision. Thanks for info so far guys. Keep voting

well i guess it depends on what you plan to do with it as far as looks. I personllay bought a GG because i plan on putting CF and to me GG will offset the CF the best.. I think Red will not look as complete if you add tint and CF......IMO

I say go with red, it's a "sporty" color and it's Mitsubishi's color - all of the promo shots are of red Evos, etc. GG is too bland IMO and is not really a color I would get for a sports car/performance car. It's not that I think it's an ugly color, I just wouldn't buy an Evo in a color that didn't stand out or show off the various exterior accents (brake ducts, hood vents, etc.). Maybe I'm crazy, but GG just seems like a "slow" color if that makes any sense.

By the way, it's definitely not more money to insure a red car. Most red cars are sports cars, and sports cars obviously cost more to insure. Therefore, it seems like red cars cost more to insure.

Well I know what you are saying that GG is more laid back, but its stealth which is what I like, but I also like RR because it is more flashy.

So far the poll hasnt helped much, its basically dead even which is what i figured it would be, lol, but i had to try.

My dad, mom and both my best performance buddies say go with Red, which makes me lean towards red but i also like being the oddball out. Either way I still don't know which to get.

But I am going after work today to pick the car up regardless, woo

I am going to take one last look at both and decide for sure. Pictures help and i spent an hour or two looking at the X stickies for showing off both the colors but real life is a lot different looking that photos so i have to check them out one more time.

Feel free to keep posting, I will continue to check this out until I go pick it up and I guess i will post which one I decided, thanks guys.

^^^^Every time I think I am leaning one way or the other I see pictures like this and then I am back to square zero, lol.

Nice looking car, those are painted stockies I assume? That is what I plan to do no matter what with the stock ones is paint them, they are too bright silver for either RR or GG. Nice shot

Yeah, they are stock. I got them put on at the dealer for an extra $400. I just couldn't bear to leave the silver ones on, RR was my least favorite color until I saw it with gun metals. I took off the pic above because I was more joking than anything. I think both colors are excellent.

Am I the only one that finds the racial humor in that?

I vote RR..I'd have gotten that color if blue wasn't "the only color I could logicly get".

You didn't need to take off the picture, thats the kind of thing that helps one decide. I still love both colors and it will probably come down to me seeing them both at the dealership again. $400 seems a bit high for some powder coating but you get dealer guarentee i suppose, and probably for sure quality. Anyway the picture looked good.
