RPMs and Milage when cruising.

Sorry if i didnt search good enough as I couldnt find the specific thread if there was one.

I noticed that several EVOX GSRs seem to run at lower RPMS then i do at highway speeds.

At 100km/h I am seeing 3100-3250rpm. At 120km\h i am getting 3400-3600.

THe most milage I have seen on my car (7000km now) is 425 on a tank with the empty light on all highway. But i have averaging 300-320 with no spiritied driving with a mix of highway and city driving (80km a day).

I was hoping my range would go up as i make a 470km trip to the city frequently and I cant go without filling up even driving 100km/h.

I knew this car would suck more fuel buy my Speed3 (6sp) got me over 600 at 100km\h. With this 5 speed i am stuck in the turbo range burning gas everyday on my way to work. I am not super-dissappointed, i just didnt expect worse milage then my old V8 dodge.

Anyone else want to chime in with there RPM at around cruising speed please or anything relevant?

I also will be modding in the future which may improve milage if i go easy on the pedal.

Also the least ive got on this car was 175 km when the empty light came on. Although i have also noticed the empty light isnt reliable as Ive filled up repeatedly right when the light comes on and it seems to be between 13 litres left and 5. Which is a huge difference for a 55lt. tank.

Short gears and a short final drive will do that, same happens to me. I've gotten used to it. A little over 3000rpm is normal at 100kph/62mph. This is why many say the X GSR needs a 6th gear.

Yeah I understand that. I just thought 3500 at 120kph seemed a little high. Hopefully after tuning, intake and exhaust it should bump up the milage a bit. I would love to throw a bigger tank in there.

gas mileage isn't the best. running over 3k on highway speeds burns a lot of gas but at least you aren't boosting.

i put in a K&N drop-in and seems like my mileage is worse by like 2-3mpg, which isn't the outcome expected considering it was slightly leaned out.

If you want any useful advice about gas economy I strongly recommend you convert km to miles on this forum before posting.
