P0011, P0016 @ 500 miles!!!

Hey guys.... everything's great in my evoX so far (still breaking her in) but today I was driving around and got a check engine light.

My idle also was rough at 1500rpm instead of the usual 600-700.

I checked the codes and it read two instances of P0011 and 1 P0016.

I called around and P0011 is a VTC cam sensor position issue while P0016 is a cam/crank position issue.

I'm bringing her in first thing next week to have it checked out... but should I be worried?

I called a couple dealerships in my area and they've never heard of this issue on the X's yet.

bone stock.... i just drove her around again and this time upon start up idle was normal. It drives normal... smooth.

I'm going to garage her and bring it in first thing next week.

good idea. It could be as simple as a loose wire... to bad things.

How many miles? Still in breakin to me means < 1000. If it's "bad things" and they want to tear into the engine, I'd strongly push for a buy back. Luckily you're in CA and the laws there are very consumer friendly.

i'm at about 510 miles right now. I know there's a lemon law but say they have to go into the motor what would a buy back involve? A new car in exchange?

NO MODS AT ALL.. and the sad part about it they told me " if it throws again we will have to call a mitsubishi tech" ... now i know what u are thinking... isn't that their job... well they gave me the same BS about how nobody has this issue and its something new.... all i would have to say to you is good luck with the lemon law because its a b!tch from what i heard to file tha paperwork and prove (your word against mitsu)

Typically. You might have to pay for mileage on the current car.

Crossing my finger for you that it's just a sensor.

i thought the p1320 code was referring to timing chain retard on cold starts and it is solved with the latest reflashes. i got it serveral times before i got flashed

humm i guess i may have missunderstood the Tech, you are right i made a mistake ......... turns out from further investigation its the idle speed control... The ETV gets confused with the idle position and the intake air flow is under normal .... but still i shouldn't be throwin 3 cel's in < 4 months

weird, i started it up since and moved the car a few times... CEL went away....

Still bringing her in to get checked. I called San Rafael Mitsu and the tech there said that a reflash should solve this issue also. We'll see...

I never threw any codes, but upon acceleration, I had slight hesitation. This has happened several times when attempting to merge onto the freeway. (and I only have 500 miles on my car to date)

Im crossing my fingers for it to go away. (go away you bad man!)
