2 Part Question
Just like the title says there are 2 questions. I figured I would ask the experts so here I am..
1) My friend just bought himself and Evo X GSR after driving around in my GSR for a while. Anyway, his turbocharger is in a different spot than my own, he got a bigger diameter Intercooler pipe installed at the dealership when he got the Evo. My own turbo (assuming you are looking straight at the engine after opening the hood) is in the back right portion of the engine. His on the other hand is in the front right. What would be the reason for this (the larger intercooler pipe?)
2) Same friend and myself were cruising along and he decided he wanted to show off so he down shifted and took off. Now black smoke came out his exhaust; similar to a VTEC Honda. What would be the reason for this?
Note: These are fairly beginner questions I'd imagine, but I have to learn; my curiosity got the best of me.

black smoke is due to the engine running ritch (High ration of fuel to air) this is normal. However turbo in the front is not normal on a Evo 10. Turbo in the front is the format the older evo models use.
