Recaro Seats Good For Long Rides?

Hey i would like to get a ralliart some time soon but i wanted to know if the GSR recaro seats were indeed good for long trips (over 2 hours) or if they got very uncomfortable. Because if this is the case then i may stick with the base model ones. Thank you in advance for all your input.

I have MR recaros, AND THE CHICKS LOVE THEM! They say its like the car is hugging them lol

In which case, yes, the sits are damn comfortable for long trips.

I took a 5 hour trip a week after I bought the X. I thought the Recaros were very comfortable and so did my girlfriend in the passenger seat.

Drove from Los Angeles to Mexico in heavy traffic, on a very hot day (95*F).

I was comfortable.

I also took a 5 hour trip from MA to PA. Had no complaints.

Just went from San Diego, CA to central IL non-stop(except gas/food).. 2k miles.. (moved) not bad as far as comfort.. However the next two days getting back in them they seemed unconfortable. Maybe my mind was like Nooo don't take me on any more 24+hour trips... LOL

I must be spoiled. The Recaros started hurting my back and bottom at about 2 hours into my drive. I personally wouldn't recommend it for long trips. But I've been in more plush and comfortable seats. I once drove non-stop from Dallas, TX to Washington D.C. in a E class Mercedes Benz. Did the same trip in a 95 4Runner as well. The Benz was night and day...I was comfortable throughout the whole entire 22 hour trip. Even the 4Runner I think has more comfort compared to the Recaros...it's good for short trips. It's all subjective I suppose.

Then again, you can't forget that the RECAROS are bucket sits, and buckets are not supposed to be comfy.

My back started hurting after 3 hours of driving. Something about the lumbar support or the angle of the seats feels wrong.

The Evo 8 Recaros were better for long drives. But the Evo 10 Recaros are more bolstered for cornering.

I think a lot of it depends on how much padding you have and how broad your shoulders are.

I'be got broad shoulders and a bit of extra padding and I start to get pain in my back, about 1/2 way up on the right side about 30 minutes in. It never lessens or gets worse, but after 4 to 5 hours I am done and need to walk around a bit.

Now on the track? We're good (except the cloth unstapling).

so the GSR side bolsters are nice and stiff? ever sat in aftermarket seats, my sparco's are tube frame with a little padding, its an awesome feeling, its like I'm a part of the car (especially with 4pt harness cinched down) really makes driving aggressively very confidence inspiring.

I can't even think of a car that doesn't use bucket seats in the front these days, and plenty of them are comfortable.

In any case, there are a bunch of posts on this topic in this previous thread, so you may wanna look through it as well:

Drove almost 3 hours Sunday and they still felt comfortably. Although do not plan on trying to move once your buckled in, the seats hug your body so well you cant squirm even if you wanted to.
