I doubt that the North American spec evos will get much in the way of big option packages because the USD is trading weakly against the Japanese Yen lately. The USD has gained strength against most other non-asian currencies though, but the evo is made in japan so I'm sure they'll be careful about the bottom line price as they can't sell and evo for anything over $33k as it is.

I have followed the economy and the financial markets VERY closely over the last few months. I think that there is a better chance than not that things are going to get pretty nasty for the next couple of years (or more). They're offering 0% on the Evos right now (in California anyway). Evo X's are just not selling. If you want next year's model, and can wait, I'd say just sit tight. I would bet a paycheck that you will be able to get a 2009 model with 0% financing at some point. Relatively few people will be in the mood to purchase a new vehicle in the near future. And that's good news for those who are looking to buy.

my thoughts exactly, makes the 08 once stand out cuz now all ralliart and 2009 models have blacked out tails. but dont get me wrong i like them too.

i dont think the 0% financing is only for california, i called my local dealership and they were offering it too.
