You sir are correct. JDM / Euro vent bezels FTW!!!

Its kind of hard to tell in the picture due to the color of the car but it finishes the openings off perfectly. I will see if Rich got better pictures of them.

I deleted the front plastics in preparation for custom brake ducts. They will not find their way on for this round of mods. The StopTech brakes are massive and heat has not been an issue with street tires.

I really like the look of the factory air guides and believe they actually function. On the AMS FMIC, they line up PERFECTLY with the edge of the core with no end tank showing. With a limited opening, I think its a bad idea not to use all the square inches you can..... plus, end tank showing in the opening of the X looks kind of crappy IMO.

I am currently working on an integrated IC air guide / brake duct. Assuming it turns out like what I have envisioned, it should go into production.

Open the hood on your X and look where the rubber bump stops mounted to the hood hit the core support. That is the spot where the pins are. I will see if Rich can post up a pic of them tomorrow.

It is an odd finish for sure. It picks up greasy finger prints pretty easily. Today I cleaned it with a spritz of brake clean and a soft rag. I would imagine soapy water would be the best bet though.

Those hood pins look trick but, seem unnecessarily complex and heavy. There really isn't much of an aerodynamic difference between pins like that and standard ones either.

Now it would be pretty cool if they locked to keep out thieves though.

I've never heard of Speed Grip we some stuff that is probaly very similar though call Fusor. Adhesives are incredible these days. Surface prep can own you though.

NICE!!!!! I wanted to take the dash out this time but after seeing all the fasteners used to hold it in place..... I will do it next time. No need to go at it twice.

As far as the sound deadening, dry ice FTMFW!!! Let it sit there till the sound deadening gets nice and cold and then it chips off in large flakes. Or wait till winter.. but it probably wont get cold enough in Pembroke Pines.

Are you talking about that matte finish on CF panels? If so, it is just that the pieces are lacking UV coating, it would be a lot glossier if it did, but would cost more and weigh a tad bit more.

The deep jewel look you maybe thinking is because those ones you've seen are Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), which means the CF panel is embedded in a thick sheet of pastic, then may have UV coating on top of that for the extra shine and protection.

Oh no! This thread is attracting all the weight reduction ho's that love to hack n slash their beautiful interiors ><

As for maintenance... coatless dry carbon pieces are 'wear n tear' items, its not for the show
