Newbee and my EVO is unique in my country

Hello, I am from Bogota, Colombia and recently purchased an evo x gsr, I have a few questions. because no dealer here has ever even seen an evo x, I imported the car, its not avaliable here, so no service.

I want to service it myself, I am a novice but pretty skilled mechanic, so Im guessing I can service the car myself, what speciality tools or scanner should I have for this? I have also read something about reflashing, but I think If I keep it stock I dont need to reflash, If I do, how can I do it without going to the dealer. which is a good service manual............

Now to add a few HP, I really dont want to tune it that much, no cold air filter, roads here are very filthy, and i think stock intake filter does a better job keeping dirt and such out of the engine, but I would like beefier sound from my exhaust, nothing loud, just beefier, maybe a clutch that can take 2 or 3 launches a week at the 1/4 mile, pretty superficial stuff to take the car up a knotch. my sister lives in maimi so she can pretty much send me anything.

Thank's a lot in advance

Hi welcome here!
you can by service manual over the net from the US dealers or try e-bay.

If you like US companies like AMS , you can by a package form them , like an exhaust or any performance stages. Thay will help you.
Also the best tuner here i think is Sean Ivey so i would ask him for tune too. You can deal with them trough the phone too.

for the parts
http://www.amsperformance.com/

for the tune
http://www.iveytune.com/

you will not regret this two when they work together

good luck and enjoy your ride there

Wow, Colombia huh? Well there are a couple of threads mentioning flashes, but the ones that you might had wanted to get were from the dealership before shipping the car out to South America. I think one was for better fuel economy and there was something else out there. And I think that those are only dealer specific. I think that someone has also posted the service manual up here as well; news is that it is a software disc (CD) not a book.....as far as the exhaust, a lot of people up here like the HKS Legamax for a "beefier" sound but not annoyingly loud.......anyway I hope that helps a little congrats on your purchase.

So I cant flash my self, I have to keep the car as it is? not even buy an expensive device for the job>?

Heres a picture of what happened when I took it to the track, didn't launch it, just went to see my friend drag his R6, and it turns everyhead in the street, keep in mind that due to high tax and tarrif the car cost me roughlly 78 grand, but hey a jeep wrangler unlimited costs 50 grand here, and not even in rubicon trim
