Buying like this is just dumb. The price is good if it is real but in the end you will pay much much more than that. It is like making the min payment on your credit card...in the end, you pay several times the original charged price. That is why we can't seperate the 2.

My wife and I bought our cars outright for the first time 10 yrs ago about the time we got married. We save our money and have paid cash each time since then.

The difference is when I paid for my X, I was done when I walked away. I currently only owe for my house. You have alot more disposible income when you don't "have" to pay a note each month.

Amazing. That's a great deal, really...$900 /month for a $31.6K car...that's a steal. Wish I could get that kind of deal myself.

Let him buy it.. so that way 6 months or less down the road when he realizes what a terrible deal he made and sells it because he no longer can afford it. Someone else here can buy it off him for that much or less!

Exactly. You're financing that much. I could come in here and ask if $10K is good for an MR if I put $30K down. $10K isn't the deal, $40K is. You're still paying your down payment so that, obviously, has to be part of the price. You're not paying $31.6 for the car so I don't know why you're getting so pissed trying to defend it.

Is $31, 600 a good price? Hell yes, but that's not possible. Is $34K a good price? Go in with your own financing and you won't get close to that.

If you can show me a x MR for 31k I will give you 3k cash once I buy the car. Your a dumbass for rolling over and over in a car and if you did make good money like you said you would not have this issue, or you are just dumb.

Keep thinking what you want but this is not a good deal 10% is **** and your credit must suck. Pay your bills and skip the new car Mr Moneybags.

Not a direct reply to the original poster, and no offense to them, but this thread reminds me of this...

I really do feel for all of you who just HAVE to keep on with all this off-topic commentary. By your own comments you must realize that I couldn't care less what you think (you know who I'm speaking to) yet you do it anyway, as if you're trying to make yourselves feel better or something.

I can think of less contructive ways for you to get the stress out though so don't let me get in the way.

For those of you who are being constructive, I say keep it up because if nothing else, others who read this thread over time are likely to learn something they didn't already know.

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, lifes short. Enjoy it while you can. Just be sure that you don't do something that will prevent you from enjoying it another day. That's advice I live by after a few reality checks (the most significant of them while I was active duty in the USMC). *Semper Fidelis*

UPDATE: Won't know till Monday if I can get some decent financing done. No supprise, my salesguy was assuming the sale and I was only qualified for financing, not approved. My credit union has had the deal since late Thursday though and they haven't denied so we expect good news Monday morning.

Why bother posting a question when you have your mind made up already, don't understand that you are getting raped, and treat people who are trying to help you with distain.

If you know it's such a great deal, why bother asking us.

Knock yourself out.

You know behind it all you are getting done, but are too proud to admit it, and too afraid to face that reality, and I don't see what you are trying to achieve by even asking people in the first place.

If you were hoping everyone was going to tell you that the deal was awesome, they won't, because it's not.

$31K is not a bad price for MR, but it's not a screaming bargain either. I see you drive '08 WRX. Well, '09 WRX has 265bhp, does 0-60 in 4.7s, and only $25K MSRP. I think MR deserves $6K premium, only because of tuning potential.

In particular, I'd like to hear from anyone in sales that really knows what that price means, or from anyone who got their X MR for less.

Answer via the Poll please.

Here's the financing breakdown. The $34k price shown included an Extended Warranty and GAP (feel free to withhold your opinions on these options. I ALWAYS buy them and never regret it *grin*): http://www.sabbaracing.com/BROWSE/te...anceBasics.pdf
