Same here also 5,200 miles and have the rattle also .

 

I took mine in several weeks ago for this same problem because it was annoying that hell out of me. The district manager went on a test drive with me and he said it was weird that it was happening so he decided to pull out another evo and let me test drive it with him, and the same rattle on it. So he concluded that there is a problem but nothing major for them to fix (on mine at least). Maybe they'll fix it for 2009 models? Anyways, I simply keep my hand there when I don't have my music on and it solves the problem, or just cruise below 3k rpms on the slow lane

 

Strange that I don't have this. ...because I ran into every problem the X has been known to have thus far.

 

I have a subaru Legacy and have this rattle. Most likly the shifter pin to make the shifter return to center position either that or its going to be a shift bushing?

 

Hmm I just got my X on Saturday and I have this issue.

 

I need to resolve this, it is pissing me off major!!

I think I found where it is coming from.... it seems like a design flaw =(

 

Where does it appear to be coming from? Any pics of the area?

 

I will see if i can take some pictures.. The rattle seems to be related to the right side shifter cable and some area of play under the shifter ball. I may pull the whole unit out...

I hate this!
