Ive noticed that when i park away from people some jackass truck parts right next to me, I have 3 door dings on my 09 lancer already, 2 are bad 1, real bad with paint taken off in 3 small spots...

its a B**CH to have to worry about parking but yeah people are inconsiderate and dont give a crap about peoples stuff...the real bad ding i got where paint was taken off happened in a church parking lot...wow

Yes, please park next to us expensive cars It's the rich people that DO care about the scratches and dings. Because they're the ones that bought the car for status, and if it looks bad, then they look bad.

I never care that much. I won't go looking for a spot where I can get door dings, but I certainly don't go out of my way to avoid all other cars. If there is a spot available close by where I am going that I can park to avoid it better, I will (like an end of a row near the doors, or by other cars that look decent enough that they'll want to avoid dings).

I always park near the curb like others have said or park far away from everyone. But I don't park far far away or else your car will stick out like a sore thumb and possibly attract unwanted attention.

I usually try parking next to an island, so I only have to worry about 1 side. I also try to park next to a light of some sort, a more expensive car, or a car that actually parked well (hoping that they have more room & wont hit my car, which doesn't always work ).

i dont even park near curbs..i work at a mall so everyday i park in the last parking spot farthest to the back..if i go to walmart i look where the last car is..and count about 5 or 6 spots down and park there..in other words i rarely park next to another person unless i totally have to..like going to a rockets game or footbal game or something where parking is limited

+1 to parking next to nice cars

i guess by parking next to no one, your car could be standing out.. and could even attract MORE attention.

also i do try to avoid parking next to those lincoln town cars as it might be a good chance some grandma is driving it and could maybe care less or doesnt even know how to park.

That depends where you are... in San Francisco, all the cars get beat up if you have to park on the street. Just take a look at the bumpers, you'll rarely find a car with unscratched bumpers.

I would actually stay AWAY from expensive cars because they don't care about their cars. The mom hauling her kids to school in the E63 could care less if she backed into the car behind her. Or Mr. CEO going to work isn't going to care if his Porsche's door hits a car in the parking lot while rushing to a board meeting. Time = money, they don't have time to worry about their cars.
