Front bumper need to be removed for UICP?

I searched and couldn't find a DIY for UICP install. Is it necessary to remove front bumper just to install UICP?

Thanks

you dont have to it, some have installed it without taking off the bumper but others have due to them not being able to tighten it enough. depends on how tight you can get the clamps.

def. not way too much work.

all i did was remove the bolt holding the horn in place to get to the screws, but if you have a swivel wrench it will be really easy

I was able to install mine by only removing the plastic radiator shield. I have Gorilla sized paws as well...so it can be done.

Taking front bumper off is no big deal IMO. With the practice I've had, I can have mine off in about 10 mins. Also, the coupling between the UICP and the intercooler (I replaced mine, other kits may be different) was on super snug, and I needed extra room to get it off. And having the bumper off can also make lining things up easier. For me at least, I think taking the bumper off is worthwhile and can save you from having to maneuver is some tight spaces which can be uncomfortable and frustrating to work in.

Otherwise, if you can get away with leaving the bumper on, then it's only a matter of preference.

I installed my UICP last weekend without removing the front bumper. Its tight, but it can be done.
