CEL and High idle

I have searched the forums, but I did not see anything like this.

I was driving today, and my CEL came on. When I come to a stop, my idle is high, around 1900-200 rpms. I have called the dealer, and I am going to take it in Monday morning.

I am sort of hoping that it is a lose hose or something, have any of you guys come across this problem?

Isaac

Unplug the battery 30min and connect. See your rpms at idle when connect the battery.

The only mod I have done is an HKS air filter.

This is not the problem.

Other solution is... clean the Idle-Steeper-Valve (ISV) and your Throttle body. Is one work of 30min.

CEL and high idle (around 2000 rpm) is usually a sign of the car hitting the torque/air flow limits. Alot of the slightly modded 10's will start hitting these now that is a bit colder out. Also tunes done before people knew of these tables will start getting this as well.

You cannot reset this with a simple battery pull, as the CEL stays saved. It needs to be cleared.

I would imagine its a P1235

Yeah, my guess would be P1235 or P1238. I actually had my first CEL (P1238) a few days ago due to high partial throttle boost. You'll need a OBDII scanner tool to read and clear the codes.

Sounds like it will be an easy fix for now. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow, I will let you all know what they say.

Thanks for the feedback!!!

The dealership told me that they are going to replace the mass airflow sensor. They said it was putting out low voltage, and that this is the problem.

The MAS should be in Friday. I will let you all know if this fixes it.

Anyone else have there MAS go out on there X?

Yup, P1235 (Mass Air Flow Plausibility according to the service manual). Not sure exactly what that entails...but the cold air seems to help trigger this CEL.

MAS low voltage is P0102 .. seems like its very common now ..

You're lucky it happened on a GSR .. if its the MR .. you'd think your gearbox blew !!
My friend could barely drive the car to the workshop .. it felt like clutch slippage, it clunked .. it wouldn't engage 1/3/5 gears ..
