Search, there are several wingless cars on here.

Ive been quoted between $300-500 from a few places and most want to fill the holes with fiberglass so it will be "easier" to reinstall the wing if I wanted to...$400 and $500 quotes for welding in plugs from 2 shops. I have a friend who does body work for a living and wants $300 for the welded job, and he would probly do better work than all the shops.

I dont mind the vinyl stickers I have covering the holes so much and will probly hold out to see what the ducktail trunk options are around summer time.

I think this spoiler technology should of been incorporated into the Evo X. It's simply amazing and works in all driving conditions.

i am using the gts wing. you have two holes on each side to cover up/plug and then you have to drill one hole on each side for the mounting of the gts wing. i found some nice plugs at Advance and then drilled the other two out myself. very easy and it you look at the trunk you can see where along the edge there are places for the two holes you have to drill. now i can actually see out of my back window.

you are better off if you swap a trunk with your wing on it, with some lancer owner. I did a same with my Old Evo. I didnt even had to paint the trunk. It was a same color. You can even get some extra money for it , instead to spend it.

How do you actually remove the wing? I see there are nuts, but is there any adhesive involved? I was thinking of removing the wing and using rubber grommets (assuming I can located the proper size).

This is a good thread, but if I am lucky enough to get an Evo X, first thing I'd do is yank off that ugly wing.

I think South Coast Mitsu sells the X trunks wingless and with no holes for around $280. They come unpainted so you do have to spend a little to get it sprayed. But at least you'll have your original trunk and wing if you decide to swap back or sell the car.
