When they massage out the dent with the tool, does it scratch up the metal in the inside? I heard that if it's not done right it can lead to rusting. Some fixes require for them to coat the underside with rust-proofing from what I hear.
Where did you hear about the rust? I had a couple of my cars done in the past. Never had any problems with rust or corrosion.. Glad to hear that they pulled out your dings though..

Heard it through property damage school. Usually it depends on how severe the scratches are behind the metal panel. Depending they're suppose to go over it with some sort of corrosion protection coating afterwards. Never let the PDR place drill through a panel for repair. It should be absolute last resort if there are no other means of getting to the dent.

btw, it cost me only $45 for the repair. It was less than dime size.

If the repair man drills a hole..

A rubber grommet. Back in '99 w/ one of my old cars that's what they placed in the hole. They drilled a hole right around the latching mechanism on the door. Good PDR places could've fixed it without resorting to that. At the time I didn't know. It didn't bother me too much.

even if you dont drive an evo x and park next to an assh0le who doesnt care less when opening their doors, then for sure youll get a ding a size of a dime. my wifes MB C300 already has 2 of them each side that happened in a mall parking lot.

i got a small dent on the pass door after a month having my car. i didnt even notice it until my dad said something. the thing that i hate the most are those idiots who park really close to you almost passing the parking line. lucky me no dent on the driver side but he found a gift from me under his door handle when he opened his door

same here dood,

right before halloween I was in my friends car passing my car and I saw a weird dent on my driver side door and my mouth dropped.

I looked couple days later again and there was a shoe mark ! -_-
this was like couple weeks after i put my "STY??" sticker on but then again
I dont remember if it was my shoe mark becuase i noticed it before and for some reason poked it with my shoes.

so either parking lot ding or angry ding lol

I had a small ding on the hood of my SE. I think it came from parking near a client's apple tree. Paintless dent removal took care of it in ~20 minutes using the existing holes in the hood to access the damage.

FTW, I have zero dings, scratches, etc. The one above was the only one. I attribute that solely to parking way in the back of every lot, far away from other cars. Funny, someone did park next to me once in a virtually empty, very large lot, and I was parked waaaaay out. When I got to my Evo and saw that I suddenly got a neighbour, I waited for him to get back, and asked him why he parked there, as well as making the rest of my feelings known. Given the (err...) frank scope of our discussion, I'm willing to be that he'll never do it again. Same goes for the guy who was waving his arms around, as if my 25MPH speed was too high, but that's another story.

You say they can remove even really small dings? I have one on my hood from where a rock hit while on the highway. It's hard to see, but it's there.
