Quite simply, what do you guys think on NOS in the X's? A good idea or not?

I hope you don't F**K your MR up since it can't really handle that much power (unless things have changed since the last time i have read threads on the MR)

Well it's a good thing i'm asking for peoples opinion on NOS and not blowing motors.... I just want to know what people think... not necessarily for my car, just wondering?

Blaze your own trails. Be the first to experiment with it on the X.

I believe most will reccomend E85 if that is something readily avaliable in your area, which it should be in Illinois.

I would go this route myself with my IX but there is only one station in my area and only 4 in the my state.

I would say no for a few reasons... Mainly because you can make power without resorting to NOS, secondly you have an MR and who knows what the deal is with those transmissions and lastly I never think NOS is a good idea on an Evo.

Good luck to you though and I am sure a lot of people will be interested to see how an already modded/tuned X MR will hold up with a shot of NOS. Happy and safe modding.

NOS is for the fast and furious movies and serious drag racers at the track. The Evo comes stock with 300hp. With your list of mods I would say you are over that by quite a bit. Isnt that enough? Unless you plan to gut the car, put in a roll cage and take it to the track often its just a waste.
Im not dissing at all and not against nos but just dont see the point in getting it for a daily driver. Are you going to nos it up to shoprite or something?

Not to be a jerk or anything, but seriously?????? YES you will see huge gains with e85, check out the alternative fuel thread.... or pretty much any thread on the 8/9 threads!

NOS, on a turbo car is definitely not the right thing to do. NOS is for Hollywood not real tuners, and Hondas and V8s IMO. Get a bigger turbo with supporting mods, tune, and there you go! The only thing I would use nos for is cooling the IC, but the air charge can be cooled better and safer with meth or e85 and you get an octane boost on top of that.

But if you have to have it... make sure and get two of em... make it the big ones for sure!

Its not cheating... you have the option to run it as well. I just rather have the power there anytime i stab the throttle, rather than hope the bottle is full. If you have e-85 and arent using it, you should be ashamed!!!
