How much are you paying for a used X and getting for your Viii/Ix trade?

like the title says,
what are you paying and what are the dealers giving you for your VIII or 9s?

If you are financing the no brainer would be to go new and take advantage of the 0%. But sounds like your trade is paid for since you are talking about the net to pay difference, so in that case I would save $2k and get the used with the $2k SSS package.
ask urself do u prefer to break in an EVO yourself... or put the trust onto someone else you didnt know?
me personally i went with a new one... plus like one of the other guys said... if ur financing... 0 percent is better than maybe 3 or 4 percent on a used car... just IMO

This is a tough choice but I would look at several different things. First, does the used one have any of the reported problems (notchy transmission, smell of fuel in the oil, paint chips, rough idle, etc.). If it doesn't then it might be a good choice. If it does have problems then go with a new one. There are many benifits to a new one including you being the only one to drive it so you know how it was broken in and how it has been driven, you contol the maintinance, it has brand new tires ($1000), and who can beat 0% financing. I guess it also depends on how much you want the SSS package as well. Good Luck! You will be happy no matter what once you own one.

Well, each persons' requirements & comfort level differs. You didn't say how the used one was used: previous owner/a dealer demo/MMNA executive car/was it a lemon?
If I was in your situation, I'd get the new one because it is an EVO and people always need to test it hard to see if all the articles and rumors about how fast it is are true. Many executive/dealer demo cars can be abused due to not getting warmed up properly, gear grinding from non stick drivers, excessive clutch slipping not to stall, lack of cool down, etc.
You will not have to deal with the previous owner unknowns especially if you have to use the warranty...
If the car was a previous owner, then that makes me feel more comfortable, but I would only get it if I met the previous owner myself to know more about the history and get an idea of how he used and cared for the car. In other words, I'd buy a used from a private seller, not a dealer and be weary of it being drag raced and modded before it was brought back to stock.
If it was a BMW,Audi or something else, I'd probably get the used/demo one after requesting leak down test and a few other things...
Good Luck!

not sure what refernce pricing you are using, perhaps California.
i am on the east coast and new england and tri-state dealers (most of them) are still very inflexible
keep in mind that this is a dealer so to pay 27K for a used gsr w/sss, is not that bad IMO, been looking all around and thats the cheapest i could find (if you look on private for sale on this forum, most peeps were asking over 30K for equivalent car, with some mods perhaps, so you know its probably been beat to shijajt
of course we can speculate that there might be some end-user rebates which i would prefer instead of 0arp coming next month or so, but with 09 appearently coming out in sept-nov timeframe, dealers will probably hold on to the ones they have on the lots since i dont belive that there are too many sitting at ports
i also got 16k for 03, which is not bad, many private sales here go for less then that
i figure dealer will make around 2k when its all said and done
oh well.
just put a deposit on the red gsr w/sss and 5000 miles on it
if the clutch goes, i will replace with better aftermarket anyways, tranny, under warranty for 5 years/60k,
i dont keep my cars that long anyhow, this one i have to, wifey says, 2 years at least

I would get the 0% for 60 months. Don't pay cash for a car when you can get 0% financing (Unless you have a TON of money).
Take the $11,000 you would have paid in cash and put it to good use. Invest (just not stocks) and get a return on that money.

i hear ya, but my other half says that is just better not to have a car payment regarless of the 0apr, on top of saving a few grand. i kind of see her point, if that money sits around there will be more temptation to spend it on mods or something else
