I haven't looked back, the X has been nothing short of amazing so far, way beyond my expectations.

Came from a IX MR and now a X GSR.

(Not a X fanboy, I love VIII's and IX's)

I love the X, but can't enjoy it because of all the problems I am having.
It just sucks that I got bad X.

I miss the power I had in my IX. Other than that I think the X is much better. I do have the FP RED turbo on the way. That should help with the power. Also ECU falsh is almost out.

Sorry to hear about the issues, they sound a bit extreme...good luck with the car. Take it out on a track and you'll forget about all of them

For various reasons...
That's some funny stuff... Not me ... I don't wanna have to worry about whp/tq number limitations, I don't like paddle shifters either.. It takes away from the whole driving experience.

On Topic: I had an EVO VIII, now have an EVO X GSR... don't drive the EVO X much.. but the times I do/did... it is a work of art.

To the OP: ... seriously get your car taken care of, it is very unfortunate you are having these issues. I think the lemon law in CA is 3 times for 1 specific problem in a certain amount of time. Take it back to the dealer, have them fix it again. If it happens again, I believe you get a new car. Not 100% sure though.

I traded my IX in for the X GSR; I got a pretty good deal. I put 16,000 miles on the IX and never had a problem. And I do miss the rawness of the IX. The big difference betweent the two, is the Super All Wheel Drive of the X. In a nutshell if I had known about this site a year ago, I probably would have kept the IX.

My oil reeked of gas last time I changed it, as well.
And my transmission likes to grind as well.

However, every car I've ever owned has had issues getting into reverse, difficulty getting into gears with the car off, and usually grinds every so often. Maybe I'm not buying the right type of cars? But I've never felt a perfectly smooth transmission.

Dealers don't know what the hell they are doing. Having them replace parts will only make things worse, not better, since it will function the same except they will screw things up.

my previous 97 integra and 90 celica were super smooth. the celica needed to go into first gear before going into reverse though.

my evo x reminds me me of off-road work vehicles (toro workman) i've driven in the past.

it was rare those things shifted smooth without the grinding noise...i think it was the result of the guys driving them before me which didn't care how they shifted. often they'd just let the clutch out while in gear to turn the vehicle off lol.

My evo ix had a real smooth tranny. Gears will never grind, and could get it into any gear smoothly. But with the X I had to have all my syncros replaced at 4k miles, and my syncro are going again.

Almost forgot. I almost lost control over the car while I was taking left turn(going at a speed I always do) because the car shut of the traction control during the turn what the hell is that all about? The whole rear end came loose.
I feel like some thing is going to give if I drive the car the way its meant to be driven.
I do the exact same thing.

While I loved my VIII and my IX, the X is just a nicer car for daily use. If it was a secondary car, I'd go back to the IX. As it stands, I love looking at the X and driving it. Of course my car just spent the last month at the dealer getting some seals replaced. That sucked.

You guys complain about the shifting, I just have to laugh. My Evo VIII and Evo IV were butter smooth shifting compared to my Nissan SR20DET 5-spd mission I have now.

Apparently my post got deleted .. but I had previously stated that I regretted trading my 05 SRT-4 for the 08 EVO X. I also had a gazillion problems with my X and eventually traded it back in for a 08 eclipse se v6 for a daily after 8 month of hair pulling.

I have a 04 SRT-4 once again .. so all is well.
