Maybe the alignment shop took it for a joyride and jacked it up? I always write my mileage down and try to stay at the shop if at all possible to avoid this crap. Good luck with it. I would try to talk to a tech in the garage and see what they would be willing to do for you.

They're going to say that your modifications has internally stressed the engine components causing fatigue cracks that grew into a big crack causing this leak. BAM! (Stamped) VOID WARRANTY! Hahaha...I made that up but I bet its close to what they would say when you bring it in with those modifications.

This breach appears to be the result of some impact with something for there appears to be an indentation of the metal at the point of oil leak. Can you recall any possible impacts in this area? For example, could this have been the result of the install of some of your mods?

Later, Ken

Same thing I was thinking Ken. Certainly appears as though the shop that was doing the work may have hit the underside with something. If this had been doing on for some time the tranny would have been out of oil...

The amount of warranty reimburshment for labor from the manufacturer usually doesn't reflect real world amounts.

With this in mind, I suggest you find a "Mod Friendly" dealership willing to do the work, and offer them an extra $100 or so to cover the difference in labor costs. This has worked for me a couple of times on my other modded vehicles.

I also wondered when the leak started so when I went home I checked the garage floor and it had some transmisson oil on it too. I also agree that it looks like something hit it but I dont recall running over anything and the mods I did myself so I know it was'nt caused from that.

I did clean the area good and took some 220 grit sand paper scuffed it up and put some stuff on it I had. I dont remember the name of it but its like jb weld except its like putty and it hardens in 5 minutes. I went on a brisk test drive and brought it back to the shop to check and see if it was'nt leaking and still so far so good no leak. I dont know how long it will last but if anything it will give me time to figure out what to do if it dont hold.

I would gesture to say that this case has been compromised. The leak is eminating from either a crack that was induced by outside forces, i.e. an impact or tortional exceedence of its design limitations, or a plain porous casting. In either scenario, there is one common outcome, the case needs to be replaced.

Best of luck on finding out how to do that.

Yeah, that sucks man. The problem with stuff like this is you never know how it happened. Maybe the alignment shop whacked it with something by accident, maybe they used a jack at that spot to raise the car up (which makes no sense, I know, but I've seen people do really strange things before). Good luck with getting it fixed, I hope it all gets worked out in the cheapest possible way for you.

If the dealer won't fix it, clean it up really good and do a few layers of JB QUIK weld...it drys pretty fast, mix it together and let it begin to set up a bit before applying it. After a day, put a second layer on for good measure.

I would imagine that even if one of the welding compounds is applied to the outside, the crack may still spread. While it's the best temporary solution available, if it were me I would want that case replaced ASAP. If it does spread and begins leaking again, will you catch it before internal damage is caused by a low oil level? That wouldn't be a risk I was willing to take.

Which brings me to my next question: Have you checked the oil level? Are you sure it's high enough to be driving around on? You never mentioned topping off due to the oil that has already leaked.

Yeah that looks like that shop is the potential culprit. Hope it works out for you man.
