Well, USDM is going to be left-hand drive. JDM will be right hand drive. That should give you a pretty big clue. Other markets get different options and option combination, so that may provide some additional help. For example, the USDM doesn't get the MR with the 5spd, while some other markets do, etc.

yeah i think the options of your car should be a good indicative of what your car is.

As far as I'm aware, the VIN won't help because it only includes the country of origin, not destination.

they don't have a VIN number, just vehicle serial number.

From what I have read here, you could check the tow hook attachments in the front and rear bumper. UK and JDM versions have a pre-threaded hole to screw in a tow hook where as the USDM version does not.

I am sure there are countless other tells...

We do have VIN .. but its coded into the ECU and it's labelled as Chassis Number on the placard ..

there's 4 distinct models I have right now ..

JDM - all instructions on the car is in Japanese.. offset front number plate
AUSDM - center number plate, headlight washer, lemon of the series
EDM - similar to JDM except all instructions are in English
USDM - basically you guys know ..

of course and the towhooks

For Asia models .. you only have to worry whether it's a JDM or AusDM

OK... So my car has right hand drive twin clutch sst. The options are the upgraded ventilated brembo brakes, eibach springs, bilstein shocks, the BBS rims, sunroof, carbon fibre bumper and the air con dash panel.

It has a headlight washer, no heating element (tropical country), tow hook in the back, centre license plate. My manual is australian though.

Ummm, I know my chasis number, so can i tell from that?

AusDM ..

claimed 296hp (highest claimed hp series for the X)
but only 360NM torque (lowest paper torque of the series for X)

yep .. its the crappy lemon series ..
Sorry .. I hate AUSDM series Evos

The US isn't the only market that drives on the right. Some EDM cars would be left hand drive as well.

Most of the EDM cars would be LHD. It was only an example of the kinds of things to look for.
