MR seats in my GSR?

Hey all,

Ok so I'm looking to get your guys input on whether or not to put MR seats in my GSR. Dont get me wrong, i like the GSR seats but i feel like the MR ones just make the car look so much classier. Anyone been in both (driving for a while) and if so do the MR ones hold you as well as the GSR ones. I know that the cloth supposedly does a better job of holding you than the leather does. Also i was curious how much you guys think i can get for my stock seats, therefore how much it will actually cost me. Thanks a bunch and let me know what you guys think i should do...keep the GSR seats or swap them out for the MR ones.

the alcantara should hold you just fine, i never had a problem in my old 9mr. but the cloth seats will do a better job, not sure how much you can get for your seats, i remember MR seats were going for around 1600-1700, you also need to get the car programmed at the dealer to recognize the airbag, since the airbags are programmed to the car. i am sure there are a lot of lancer/ralliart owners looking for the seats. as for me im going bride as soon as someone finds a fix for the srs light

Thats exactly what i was thinking at first....but then i thought about how much i could recoup if you will. Lets say i get a set of x mr seats for about 1500-1600. And then i can sell mine for like a grand or 1200. then in all reality im only spending 300 or 400 bucks for new seats. I was wondering if the MR seats are any more comfortable, or any other things i should know about them? It is a lil bit more money but it makes the interior look much classier, and with the alcantera it still holds you in the seat.

I put MR seats in my GSR and love them. I think it would only cost you $500 to $700 out of pocket if you could sell your GSR seats and pick up a set of used MR seats from somebody. I agree that it does make the interior feel much classier.

maybe someone with a RA will want your GSR seats.... or maybe someone with a MR will want to trade with some $$$

personally I would do it. If the car is a DD its nice to have some more comfort and class and the MR seats will be an upgrade for this reason and they are still good seats for the track and spirited driving.

you need to get the door pannels and rear seats too to make it all look right.

Yeah and there are some that will tell you why add power when you can't efficiently drive with the factory hp? In other words, they will tell you to put $$$ into the suspension, or a driving/track school.

BTW, the GSR seats are not "perfectly good" either.....
