you can always collect money from insurance and still get an aftermarket front end.
although, personally, I would pay for it out of pocket if it's going to affect my insurance rates.
any damage to your intercooler?

First of all, learn to use punctuations. Secondly, no one can really answer that for you, since we don't know what your insurance policy is like, what your deductable is, or how they feel about dogs. You should probably look up some prices on your own, take a look at your deductable, and figure out what's cheaper.

comprehensive coverage should cover it. take a look at your policy. a lot of times the deductible for that is just about 100 bucks.

comprehensive covers things like collisions with animals and other stuff, i believe.

you may also need to have the front end checked out for addtional damage to intercooler, ac lines and oil cooler.

While you may be hurting, the dog, I am sure, hurts more than you!
Where I am, deer in November is a bigger problem and in Maine, if you survive a moose incident, consider yourself lucky.

Later, Ken

not sure if there is a leash law where you live but I had a dog run out in front of me once and I hit it and the owner of the dogs home owner insurance had to cover the damage cause the dog was not on a leash

might be something to check into

I had to claim this on insurance once, and they said it was covered on comp. since it's an act of god. Now if you swerve to miss the dog and hit a pole, you're looking at collision.

Lets see some pictures! It's not worth raising your insurance premiums for a $1-2K fix!

Also, check out http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/ for parts! They're a forum vendor and cheaper than your local dealer!!
