I would just get an estimate from mitsubishi, give the estimate to the owner, and have him pay the FULL amount..

Make sure it's a legit estimate and have them pay you if he's a good business man you should pay if not tell them your taking them to small cliams court and also tell everbody they serve cat's.

when i had to replace my front aero lip, it took my bodyshop a while to find that piece/item#... it was weird. as previous mention it was a big chuck of cash 700-800..

and having the valet pay it is probably the best way, if you can get them to

i priced out a front spoiler @ mitsu parts counter and it was like 265 already color matched, I dunno where this 700 800 number is coming from.

Granted thats with out labor, but have you seen the thing? thats like a 20 min job.. very easy DIY

if your insurance quote doesnt go up, you can pocket some cash here possibly...

Yes, the part cost is correct, but that's what the parts+labor was on my estimate. I will post the details a few minutes later. Its very likely they jacked up the cost since I was going through insurance, but that's what it cost me.

be smart about this man, get a Mitsu guy on the phone call three way to your insurance company rep via an extention, even if they dont pick up leave the voice message and have the mitsu person describe the part, its OEM number and quote price. After that forward a letter to the insurance ombudsmen, generally that is enough.

that said, I would go back to valet and get names and numbers, be civil but raise civil hell lol

The ins claims adjuster is LYING and actually breaking the law. You are allowing them to do it by not proving them wrong with a simple car brochure or possibly a letter from Mitsu proving them wrong. Don't take the money or you will not be able to go and correct the situation. When you are done you need to call 1-800-progressive and get a real Ins. company. Also, you should've never made the claim with your Ins. company. BAD MOVE. This incident is now gonna stay on your record for three years and raise your Ins. rates with any Ins. company you are with. You should've waited to see what the restaurant owner was going to do before filing the claim. Next time call a buddy of yours who is a licensed Ins. agent to find out the best course of action... Like me. That goes for any of you with claims questions. PM me if you want some simple advice.
