last year and some 25K miles ago i installed eibach PRO KIT springs, month after month i have noticed that the car seems to get lower and lower..now its at the point where it is rubbing and im using the stock gsr rims...i hear chirping after every little bump...i am surprised that this is happening so soon on a stock setup with a pretty reputable spring...has anyone else discovered this problem? i am beginning to think i bought knock off springs

edit: disregard the title: i meant "pro-kit" springs not "sportline"

Is your ride really bouncy? Could be bad shocks if so.

For starts did you leave in the factory bump stop bushings in when the springs were installed?
Second almost all factory shocks are worn out by about 20k. But that would be the bouncy thing.

actually one issue I was worried about with the Eibachs...too low for the stock struts. Think I am waiting until I can afford Coilovers.

Stock shocks should never be blown after 20k miles, so I don't know what in the world that guy is talking about. Second, lowering springs typically blow out stock struts, which is why I will never put them on my car again. I had a set of eibachs installed on my civic back in the day, and within about 2 months, my stock shocks were blown. Same symptoms as you are having; car bounced up and down over light bumps like it had hydraulics and rubbed and scrubbed whenever the suspension would compress in even moderate cornering. Lowering springs are garbage and it looks like you had to learn the hard way. I've been there before, so I feel your pain. Money up and buy a good set of competition coilovers or keep it stock. Let us know how it works out.

Hmmm nobody notice his sig says he drives a lancer and he's "using the stock GSR rims". Sounds to me like he doesn't have an evo but is using the evo gsr rims on his lancer. i could be wrong and misunderstanding, but is it possible that if this is the case, OP is using springs meant for an evo on a lancer? i don't know enough about the lancers to know whether or not the parts are interchangeable. again if i read wrong and OP does have an evo, then nm this reply.

From his other posts on this forum, he says he does have an evo. This is just one of many that indicates he does

But yeah its all good, not critizing you or anything, just did a little more research before assuming he didn't have an evo. But I also wonder if the lancer and Evo parts are interchangeable? I think some are, but not sure.

)i dont notice that the ride is bouncier..i never said anything about the quality of the ride.. the car rides just like it did a year ago, its just that its lower, the springs appear to have sagged ...can it sag without blowing the struts? does that make any sense? (the ride is physically lower i can barely fit a finger between the wheel and the fender, it is rubing because it is low not because it is bouncy)

2)i have experience with eibach springs before i am aware that they are not the best solution however i also believe that they should perfrom for more than 25K km (at least they have on my past car) this is the reason i made this thread

3) i have an evo x... i just hate how people brag about **** on this forum..an evo is part of the lancer family and i dont really care if people i dont know, know if i have an evo or not it doesnt do anything for me
