Loosing power?

Hi everyone,

I installed AEM air intake last Saturday. When I tested my car after the installed, I felt power increased obviously. Turbo boost quick and response well. However, just about last night, I felt loosing power when I tried to pull rpm. Turbo kicked in around 4500 to 5000 rpm instead of 3000 rpm, and feel less pull compare to before. I hope loosing clamps and pipes cause that becasue of easy fixing. So, I decide to reinstall the air intake again and check all the clamps this weekend.

Can anyone give me suggestions what else should I check beside clamps and pipes?

Thanks

The AEM air intake is the only mod now, and the car is just slightly over 2k miles. Anyway, what I am going to do is reinstall the air intake, and make sure all intercooler pipes and air intake pipes are tight. Then, probably unhook the battery before start my car, and let the ECU relearn it.

The AEM intake has a larger diameter inlet pipe, so it makes the car run a bit leaner. When boost kicks in the stock mapping seems to really dump fuel in in this case, making it really bog down with just the AEM intake.

I've got the AEM intake and I kind of regret it now. Looks nice though

Absolutely. Been documented on here that the flow over the air sensor is different in order to trick the ECU into running leaner. (and this is why a tune + OEM intake = greater gains than tune + aftermarket)
