Some one backed into my parked EVO

My evo was parked in front of my house and some how a neighbor across the street backed into the rear QP and pushed the car into my wifes car siting next to it. how fast do you have to be going in reverse to crash into a car and move it sideways. Here is a crude drawing of what happened.

Sorry to hear, but did you see it happen? I'm guessing the driver after backing into your car, kept their foot on the pedal outta shock..

My girlfriend could do that to someone with the way she backs out. Some people have too much faith in their backing abilities... Every time I've witnessed an accident first hand it's been from someone backing up. Got hit in my passenger side by a guy backing out of his driveway onto a busy road. Watched a kid back into a truck just a few days ago, tried honking but to no avail... I swear one of these days my gf is going to hit something super hard, she throws it into reverse and just backs up full speed. I have even hit a few things backing up... Even hit my own Evo once But I've learned a lot from that and I am super duper careful backing up now...

Sorry man, that's rough either way. You've got decent insurance right?

No but my other neighbor did. I still have to talk to my neighbor and ask what she actually saw.

I have good insurance.

Were you parked in the street? I would park my brand new evo in my driveway or garage.

Lol that's true. I nearly tore off the bumper backing out of our driveway in the Jeep. That was one strong *** pole >.>

That's harsh. He/she must have seriously been mashing the gas pretty hard to hit it like that. Hope their insurance takes good care of you. Of course, knowing insurance companies, they will take forever and a day before you can get authorization on the repairs.

In a related, but not-as-bad-story: During the first week I got my Evo, I parked at a local Best Buy far, far away from everyone so no one would ding my doors. As I was coming back out, a middle-aged woman was backing up very quickly. Naturally, I got alarmed and started yelling for her to stop. She jerked the brakes and her rear bumper was literally less than two inches away from mine. As she sped off, some local bystanders commented how close that was. I shutter to think what would have happened had I not been there to intervene.

I'm guessing whoever hit it didn't hit it too hard, but when they hit the car they got surprised and their foot jammed down on the pedal. Hopefully everything goes well and they pay for what happened.

Wink

Reasons people should be allowed to have shaped explosive charges on there bumpers. I have had two Mitsu's backed into be stupid people. An 03 eclips and my friends 04 lancer.

Would love to have a device the would totally decimate the back of there vehicle without a scratch on mine.

LOL!! I can't help myself from laughing at this one!!

My father backed into my EVO, on his own driveway, after the car was parked in the same spot for 2 weeks!! "I forgot it was there" that's all I heard. $2500 worth of damage. We are on the same insurance policy, so I couldn't tell the insurance company that he did it!

Hope you get as much a laugh out of this as I did. It's only a car and they can be fixed.

How I miss the days of chrome bumpers =/

A few weeks ago it was raining pretty damn hard. There was a 90-something truck sitting at a stop light, and some stupid girl (this is right outside of the high school) was talking on her phone and speeding. She slammed into his bumper at probably 25mph. She totaled her hood and front bumper, while his rear bumper got a small dent
