Nope you can take it to any dealer you want. As long you call and make sure they ordered the part

Got mine...I like it better now. Doesn't feel like you have to pull it so hard anymore.

Ya before I got it fixed I had to have someone push down on the front of the hood while I was pulling the hood latch.

The dealer in Waldorf, MD is good. They were very clear about what would void my warranty and what wouldn't. I went to 4 dealers before I found one that didn't act like breathing on my engine would void the warranty. As long as you don't have a CAI, bigger turbo, etc. you are good. They were fine with the mods in my signature. I specifically asked them where they stood on voiding a warranty and how they viewed modifications. The service manager is very easy to work with. I know this doesn't help as you are way up north, but I thought I would give my $.02.

I took my car in for the latest re-flash and they did the hood latch as well. I can't tell the difference but at least it's done.

Took mine in today to Schaumburg Mitsu here in IL. They fixed it in about a half hour, and the cable release is MUCH easier and smoother now.

They also didn't hassle me at all about my mods, but I have a good relationship with them. Bought two new Evos from them, and go in for maintenance sometimes.

Geez, I've been waiting for 2 weeks for my parts. Mine broke about 4 weeks ago, they ordered new parts then I take it in and the recall is issued the day before, then I am told I need the new recall parts and now I'm @ 2 weeks waiting for those! Mitsu service sucks *****.
