Your car might have sat on the lot for months, before you bought it. Really most people dont think about that but if the car has sat for almost a year how good do you think that oil is?

All jokes aside, when my X sets in the direct sun for a couple of hours (warmer temps 80 to 90 degrees) the car shifts much smoother! Maybe his dealer parked it outside for a while? I'm just trying to be nice here, no sense in being mean guys! The other OP was just joking around about the car wash hp and they poster kinda said the wrong things in exchange! We Evo driver gotta stick together lol!

I totally agree. I've noticed the warmer the weather = the smoother the shifter.

No placebo effect here, I've really put some focus into this!

I thought it's just me too. I notice it does run smoother that's why I change my oil as often as I can.

the oil change has nothing to do with smoother shifting. its probably after the change you warm up the car long enough. For me, the longer i let the car warm the smoother it gets.

BTW i have been through 3 oil change n it dosent help. ill try the tranny fluid in a week.

When they changed the engine oil they also changed the blinker fluid, its on the maintenance schedule. That's why it shifts better now.

I've been trying to get ahold of some blinker fluid for quite some time now...they're awlays sold out for some reason.

evo shift gears had been designed for extreme use (e.g higher temps). thats why its smoother at higher temps.
