the sss headlights have an extra relay to help with the flickering. you can install an hid kit now, but you have to have them on at all times, or else they will flicker. try doing a search.

Cheaper to do a light swap with ballasts. You'll have to disable daytime running lights with a switch of some sort. On the GSR there is no relay to disable daytime running lights. DRL might have a way to switch off in the computer according to other people.
I just wired in a switch with HID bulbs and ballasts.

told me it would be over $2500 to replace them with the projector headlights, includes wiring and the new ECU it uses

so this is something the dealer can switch over just as long as the wiring/relays make the switch to?

will be expensive for the whole housing, are you avoiding the aftermarket HID kit route? It is a simple plug in play that isn't to expensive that you could install yourself at home. Just got to find a good place for the ballasts so they are not directly next to heat or lots of vibration.

again. this is a dealer owed install....aftermarket is not an option now. either way i would much rather have the factory setup.

Was it indicated in your purchase contract that they'll put HID lights in your base GSR with no price increases and their signatures are on it? I am pretty sure the dealer will SAY whatever it takes to sell you their leftover base GSR but likely won't follow through.

As others had mentioned, it'll cost $2000+ just to swap the non-HID headlights for the OEM HID projectors not including labor. I am certain no dealer is willing to cough up that amount of money to sell a car on its lot when they aren't making that much margin anyway on the EVOs (unless you way overpay).
