E46 M3s do this terribly. I've never experienced it in an Evo.

i normally turn the a/c off a few miles before i reach my destination. i never thought about the condensation. i always heard it was good for the compressor. Glad it helps in other ways.

one old prank when it comes about cars is to intruduce some oddors in your vents, there is some kind of fish bait, or fish eggs, i'm not sure that will give you car so strong smell that people usually puke when they start the A/C
do you have any stupid friend? mad girlfriends?

I worked on a prelude once that had a dead snake in the vents behind the dash. Scared the heck out of me when I found it. Just check your A/C vents for dead animals or anything else that may be dead.

They have ac odor treatment spray that you spray into the intake ducts of the climate control system. It happens to BMWs all the time

An update: it does help to periodically run the fan without the A/C on for a minute or so. I do this every few days now when I pull into the garage, and I don't notice the smell as badly now.

Well I have it at work so it might be available for professional use only. I never looked for it an the store shelfs. On customer complaints we just spray the intake ducts for free. Not sure if Mitsu would do that though.

This happens a lot with newer cars. Mold buildup in vents cause that odor. An alcool base treatment can be done. I know the company Terraclean has a system called Mist and works wonders. Plug the system inside the car, put the solution in the machine, start the car and put it on recirc for 15-20 minutes. After that no more smell. We do it quite often where I work and customer's are starting to ask for it more and more.
