Hmm... Trunk Swap with Base Lancer?

Am I correct in assuming that if I swap trunks with a wingless Lancer that I can just easily swap my trunk lid? I like the non-SSS wing that I have, however, I am a fan of wingless.

Yes, the trunks are the same and will swap right over.

Yup, same part, same lights (unless you have RA lights).

As for the decals, are there any of those "plugs" that will leave holes, or is it just adhesive keeping them on? If so, does the floss technique cleanly remove the decals? (Mitsu logo, Mitsu name, Lancer Evolution name)

Yeah they swap over. But I wouldn't want a heavier trunk lid on my evo.

The RS had a thinner sheetmetal trunk then all other Lancers and Evos in 2005. I'm not sure if that carried over to new Evos, especially since we don't have an RS model here yet.

I don't think they are available in PB.

I looked at doing a trunk swap and painting. The part itself is cheap, a couple of hundred dollars. This is comparable to filling your holes.

The paint matching gets expensive and with blending, the cost goes up over $1000...just to get rid of a spoiler.

I'm not willing to go ghetto, ie no patches for me so the spoiler stays.

Wasn't aware of this, I know the lid isn't aluminum on the evo. Maybe I'll weigh them.

Are you certain that the base lancer trunk is indeed heavier?

How much does the trunk weigh on the evo? SEibon's dry carbon is like 3.6kgs. After I took off my SSS spoiler, the trunk is like..super light.
