yea well They are going for around 80k here in mke. SO yes it would be cheaper than a FQ. I just wouldnt pay 80k for a Mitsu period. Not to mention HKS isn't that great.

I'm not too sure if that's entirely correct. The old FQ400 had an upgraded turbocharger too, and this one probably does too. Underneath all those CF goodies, there is quite a bit that needs to be changed on the base X to match it. Besides, there is the possibility that the Tranny/Engine etc come cherrypicked for the 400 to be extra reliable to avoid warranty claims. I am just saying there are a lot of things we do not know about the insides of the FQ400 to assume that we can mod a base GSR to match/beat it for cheaper. We should just take it at face value I guess.

from what I know....yes the fq400 has a bigger turbocharger.and it spool at 21...instead of 23 like ours. And they said from the fq360 thats 360hp was the limit before they had to do something to the tranny and the clutch.

So yes the fq400 has a new clutch.

And by the way someone said the GTR was 80k in milwaukee.......well the fq400 would be around 58k.

I just think its funny how people are praising the FQ-400. It maybe be a great car but we all seen the Top Gear episode with the Evo FQ400 spanking the Lamborghini and we seen the results of all that power afterwards. Although it may be factory warrantied, it doesn't seem too reliable for everyday driving on city streets....unless UK Mitsubishi has fixed those problems for the X FQ400. Either way, if the same issue resides I would rather have my own tuned 400hp Evo X and it be reliable/driveable for any situation.

The cost of the FQ over the years has always been around 80k even in USD (if we could get it). and even if it was 58k, i'd take a Z06 over it. Who the hell pays 50k+for a 400 crank hp mistubishi?

It would never sell for under 65 b/c the USD is sh*t.

I heard people ask "who the hell pays over 30K" for a Lancer back when I sold Mitsus when the Evo first came out.

I heard people ask "who will pay over 40K" for an Evo/Mitsu when the X MRs came out, and people are.

So I mean, okay, you think its too much and wouldn't buy it, but I bet if were here and people saw it tearing *** around race tracks breaking off much more expensive hardware like Z06s, Lambos, 911s etc, somebody would pay.

well you could by an fp red turbo for 1600 and be well over 400 hp so i dont think an upgraded turbo is worth the price bump. Saying there is a lot to be changed is speculation and probably not true. What exactly do you think is changed?

Suspension - you can upgrade yourself and outperform the fq400's suspension
Brakes - you can buy your own bbk kit
Turbo - You can upgrade yourself
Exterior and Aero mods- you can do yourself
Clutch- You can do yourself
Wheels - You can do yourself

Unless HKS went crazy and decided to make adjustments to the chassis I dont see what they possibly could have done that would make it different than the base gsr. You are just falling into the hype of an fq400 name but it really has nothing great to offer. I highly doubt they "built" the tranny or engine to handle 400 BHP. Im sure Mitsubishi is well aware their stock engine and tranny can handle that much power.

And about the warranty thing. Well I could only see that being useful in an argument if Mitsubishi actually didnt deny warranties left and right.

yes but we know how mitsubishi warranty is in america. So if they did bring it here, we know that the warranty wouldnt mean ****. So I dont see it being a good deal if they did bring it here.

They've been good to me. So yeah, I would love the idea of a unique 400hp turn key Evo that's done right.

Pretty much the same story in the UK, my main worry would be the stock clutch, mine went at under 400 crank hp, it's a consumable item and not covered under warranty, how long before one goes after spending 50k GBP on your new X?!!!!!
