i started out with a brand new 2008 135i manual with sport package. The novelty of owning a bmw goes away fast once it has to go in for random issues. The HPFP was a known problem but i believe they fixed it now for all of the 2011 models.

After having the 135i for 2 years and having this 2010 gsr for almost 1 year I can say I have more fun in the evo. It just feels more raw. The bmw is a fantastic DD but it feels numb.

For long trips 3-4 hours of driving the bmw would be more ideal but I dont really have any complaints. I set it on cruise and get decent mpg.

autocrosses and 1 trackday in the evo has me not looking back at all!

evox all the way.. you dont want the bmw unless you have the money to fix it if something goes wrong modding. the 370 is a great rwd moddable car but after full bolt ons its $$$ to build a vq35 , evox is awd a beautiful car and peppy as effff!!!

Good to know, my lease is up on my 135i, I did beat a couple of Evo X on highway merge or over 100mph..

The 135i is a great car, it is very stable over 110mph and 135mph in the Autobahn in Germany when I pick mine up there.. (European Delivery).

The down side is the space, I cant drive my 3 other friends out sitting comfortable in the back, I use to have a Evo 8 03' and it is nice.. and I missed the 4 door.

BTW, I do have a 07 335i sedan before, thats why I don't want to go back to that until the F30 comes out.

How much does a 2011 GSR cost? $27k? $28k?

The Evo is easier to mod once you get past the initial stuff. The 135i is comfy and a good highway roller, but disappoints in the fun stuff (curves). I miss it less now than when I wrote that. Still really like those cars a lot, though!

why are you leasing. I also hear they are strict about not modifying with lease cars. why not just buy?

Out of the 3 the 135i is probably the worst.

honestly, Im very glad to see this post.

Im a evo x owner, and like you, Ive been interested in the 135i. To me, it's a e46 m3 rebuild. It's a very good car, no matter how you look at it. Small body, powerful, with lil work, suspension, maybe brakes, too, it would be almost perfect.

EVO X though, one thing Im positive is, I dont think you can find a car that has better handling than it on the market today. Drove E92 M3, skyline GTR r35, F430, 911T, nothing beats it, NOTHING.

hope that helps.

i'd get the 370z if you're leasing, quick, comfortable, and not to bad looking. if you get an evo **** is going to break, at a minimum you'll replace the clutch. and the 135i is a girl car. its a mercedes SLR for midgets.

I'm surprised by the number of people that actually like the 370Z on here. It's nice that it's RWD and handles quite well, but it has limited use because its a two seater. Plus it has a blatty exhaust note that sounds like an early nineties Chevy Corsica. Vomit.

The X is great, but 1 Series M coupe is now available and one heck of a car too. The 370Z is dead last to me of these cars.

Funny thing you mention that because nobody is buying the 370Z. Sales have been terrible. Also I agree about the exhaust note. It has the same dust buster tone that 90's GM V6 engines used to have not to mention the engine is extremely rough and unrefined.

You can say that the 370Z is still selling in EVO like numbers but these cars are supposed to sell in much more volume than a niche car like the EVO. The RX8 on the other hand is essentially dead;

now that you mention the 1 Series M Coupe, I think Autoblog mentioned the other day something around these lines:

"The 1 Series M Coupe #1 rival = an used M3?"

It kind of makes sense... I think BMW wants the same money for a new 1 M that one would pay for a good 2-3 year old e92 M3

although I'd prefer the Twin-Turbo i6 in the 1 Series M Coupe than the N/A torque-starved V8 in the M3...
