Evo X Vs. 135i Vs. 370z

Alright, so my lease is ending fairly soon and i've been wondering what my next car would be.

Nissan 370z
Mitsu Evo X
BMW 135i

Nissan 370z
  1. 332 BHP
  2. light weight
  3. two doors
  4. about 30k intro price

Mitsu Evo X
  1. 292 AWHP
  2. Turbo
  3. 4 doors
  4. can easily gain horsepower
  5. GSR trim MSRP around 33k

BMW 135i
  1. 300 HP
  2. Twin Turbo
  3. 2 doors 4 seats
  4. MSRP around 35k

now, ofcourse. this is only a basic overview of the cars.

on youtube they have a Evo X vs 135i comparo and 135i vs 370z comparo.

which car would you think would be the best daily driver and a moderate price that you can mod?

I know i'm asking on an evo forum ^_^
just curious.

Need more information about what is important to you. Do you need 4-doors? Do you like luxury features? Do you need a sunroof? Do you need leather interior? Need information on stuff like that so we can truly help you.

Based on your comment about "best daily driver," well they'll all be great at that.

Based on your comment about "moderate price that you can mod," the 370Z is the loser in that respect. You can get big gains very easily out of the 135 and Evo X.

Not really fair to compare them.

370z = 2 seater and "light" is relative
135i = might as well be 2 seater as the rear seats are useless
X = 4 doors with real seating for 4 and a small trunk

The X is also < $33k unless you're a chump.

135i has a ROCKET of an engine with ridiculous amounts of power. Too bad the car is so ugly and unusable and comes from a BMW dealer (the ones here in Dallas suck).

The 370z has good styling, but there will be 2003092093 of them on the road in 6 months.

Neither the 370z or 135i handle any where near as well as the AWD X does when pushed to the edge (or on the track).

As a daily driver with lots of style?

You should be looking at a 335i coupe (or debadged 328i lol) or A5 2.0t. Maybe the new VW CC.

If you want a car to take to the track you want an X.

If you want a car you can put some crazy wheels on and lower it until it's undriveable, then the Z is a good way to go.

Has anybody compared the X to the Audi TTS? I drove one today and it was a blast to drive. Fit and finish was top notch.

Evo is the most practical dd of those 3. The only downside is the potential high maintenance cost of the awd system either after you mod it or the warranty expires.

I would say 335i or Evo X. I'm not a huge fan of the 1-series and I think you get so much less than a standard 3 series for a very similar price

All of those are really nice cars.... if you're a practical guy, find the one where you can get the best deal. What did it for me was getting the X for $27.5K + 0% APR for 60 months. I heard Nissan has good deals too... but BMW usually won't go under invoice.

I would pick the Evo X for it's modding potential. I don't care about stock cars.

z is not a car to be a dd... coming from a person that use to own a 350z and drove it all year round in pennsylvania weather which sucks btw.. Theres just not enough space in the car to put anything. The trunk is useless and the car is ridiculously expensive to mod. The only plus to the car is it definitely turns heads everywhere. I have owned my evo x for only 2 weeks and this car is hands down the best thing i have driven in awhile. you really cant match a turbo awd.. anything close would be a subaru sti or 335xi but for one im not a fan of hatchbacks and two 335xi are not even close to the 30's price range. And for someone that will be financing, like someone said in the previous post, you cant beat the 0% financing

It's also a lot more money. Very sexy car, though.

I like all 3 and have driven them.

The 135i is probably the most daily driver friendly and most comfortable. It has a ton of grunt down low from the big turbo motor. The handling is decent but nothing to call home about.

The 370Z handles well, is light, good grunt from the motor. Visibility really sucks - you can't see crap around you when driving. It is also a very comfortable car and luxury level interior. Can't do much with power but looks great with huge wheels and lowered.

Evo X, probably the cheapest car to modify out of the 3. It does not have the comfort of either of the other two. It's best thing is its performance. It outhandles either of the other two cars in stock form. You kinda trade off the luxury and comfort for performance. It is practical in that it has 4 doors and seating for rear passengers. For me, since it is only me in the car most of the time, I could easily daily drive a 370Z or 135i.
