I would just wait for the 2010 model. The car has already depreciated a lot and on top of that, a lot of these cars have been sitting in lots for a looong time. (Replacing batteries etc.)

I don't agree about waiting for the 2010 if you want a deal. Right now you can get crazy deals on them if you can find them. And the differences between the 2010 just add weight, plus the price is going up another $1k. On top of that they are only importing 1800 of them to the states. I wouldn't expect very many deals on them. If I would have waited for the 2010, I would have spent another 10k.

I agree with you why get a base 2010 evo X when you can get a fully loaded 2008 for less.

Yeah, "out the door" numbers would include registration and tax but some people might live in states without sales tax. I'll be shelling out another $2k to the state of MN this week when I register the car (waiting on the WI title).

There was a recall on the hood latch, that all dealers had to fix on the car if the car was still on the lot. When I bought mine it had already had the latch fixed.

I wouldn't say lowered, south coast is running a bit lowered prices but most dealerships are not. South Coast ships a lot of cars out so they have to lower their price a bit to compensate for that.

I went to local dealer the other day for oil changes... I didn't see any 2010, but the price got jacked up pretty high with very little discounts. A base model can cost up to 35k otd. sss package runs about 2k more...MRs are over 40k for sure....

good thing i made my decision jumping to the 08s I don't think i'll wait another year for an evo before changing my minds on other options.

on the other hand, if you are a potential buyer now, aim for a 2010, i dont think 5000 is too much for a mint condition brand new car.

I was also on the fence this past week on either waiting for the 2010 but the deals on the 2008 were just too good. Picked up OB SSS with Aero. Plus, I've got extra cash for modding

I bought my car brand new for $26,500 with SSS, Aero and Interior sport packages. OTD price was $27,698. I am staring at my bill of sale right now.

I took the rebate, but even with 0% financing it would be under $30k OTD.

My base RR GSR was $29.5K OTD with fees and the negative equity on my trade (about $1000). The trade saved me a bunch of sales tax which made up for a lot of the neg equity. Love that 0% rate as well!

My car had 46 miles on it when I picked it up. I did not trade anything in.

There was nothing sketchy about the deal.
