Evo X Recaro seat lowering brackets?
Anyone seen where these are being made or sold? I know there are several options for the VIII and IX seats, but I've yet to find any for the X. I'm 6'6" and I feel like I'm sitting in a high chair compared to the way I felt I sat in my VIII and IX.

Anyone?

Sigh, I wish, the seat position blows. And the lack of adjustment is even worse.
HKS sells a "Best Position" seat rail that can lower the back of the seat 15mm, which to me seems pointless. If anything, it's the front need that needs to be lowered (for me at least.)
And what companies offer aftermarket rails for the VII/IX? Maybe we could contact them and let them know there is some interest in seat rails for the Evo X.

I think it's too high too and I'm only 5'8". Most people think the seating position is too low on this car so I'm surprised to see a thread like this. Maybe it's because my other car is an S2000 and I traded in a 350z to get the Evo I'm just used to a lower seating position. I've searched before for lower seat rails and came up empty, besides the HKS which doesn't seem ideal.
I'm 6'2" which means my legs are relatively long regardless. Because our cars also lack a telescoping steering wheel, this means I have to have my seat forward of the ideal position where my knees are bent almost to a right angle. This makes working the pedals (clutch especially) awkward and sometimes uncomfortable.

I agree with that. I like to have my left knee with just the slightest bend when the clutch is fully depressed and even at my height that puts the wheel at a very far stretch. It's OK not to have a telescoping wheel, they just should have set the damn thing closer to the driver. Hell, my S2000 has no seat height adjustment, no telescoping for the wheel, not even tilt for the wheel, yet everything is in the perfect position. I haven't heard anyone complain about the S2000 seating position, so it's not as much the lack of adjustability, but the fact that things just aren't placed where they should be.
EDIT: Hmmm, Google'd around looking for these and came up with nothing...

Evo X guys got screwed by mitsubishi in the way they designed the seat mounting system. I've looked at it and it's a no-go for lowering, at least with a simple $100 per seat bracket.
I still have drivers side available for the VII-IX guys. They are $114 shipped.

Thanks for the heads up, I thought about trying these for a while, but unfortunately those rails can only lower the BACK of the seat and only by about 10mm. I'd like to have the entire seat (front and back) lowered.
I PM'd the guy who makes/sells these and here's what he said:
Bummer.

Thanks for trying, pity
I love the seating position. it's racy and helps the balance of the car when its low like that. the only problem is when I want to hang my arm out the window, it feels like it's going to pop out of the socket.
