removing the fake cf trim pieces?

Hey guys, I am tired of the terrible fake CF trim pieces that are on the doors and the dash on my X. I am planning on removing them and replacing them with something else. Is there any particular trick to their removal? I'm guessing they just kind of snap into place - is this correct?

Thanks guys

Dash trim pieces have a screw at the door ends, you'll have to remove the bottom section of dash just in those corners

Never looked at taking those pieces off. The power window switch and cloth insert are all screwed into place. I'm guessing but you'll probably find them screwed on too.

you have to pull the door panel off and get to the screw in the middle of the trim piece. The main piece on the dash can be accessed by opening the glove box and removing a small plastic trim piece to gain access to a screw..

I went down to the local fabric store, picked up a couple of yards of some really nice stuff, and started cutting away
I will post up pics when it is finished (wont be until next week, however - I am going out of town for the weekend)

Yea i searched for a while and couldn't find anything so I guess I'm gonna do it myself. I just bought the epoxy yesterday but there is no place here that I could find some really nice stuff to use. I might just hafta order it off the internet.

FYI - The dash pieces you speak of are a plain, shiny black on the MR model. I have no idea what the dealer would charge you (probably very expensive) but it might be worth looking into.
