Has anyone tried or know of any good o2 sensor simulators (not mechanical bung fixes)

Have you tried a J-style o2 bung? We run this on our test pipes and haven't had a problem with CEL to date. The o2 simulators should be a resistor that you put in line to trick the ECU. If I remember correctly it's a 2.2 ohm resistor.

I recommend the J-style o2 bung over the resistor though. I have not tried this on the X - So it's at your own risk.

thanks,

Michael

Whats the worst that could happen if dont use my original sensor? If i use an extra sensor thats lying around, if something is already wrong with my wiring harness this will only prove it

That's interesting, I've never seen one throw a CEL. We have had ours on for months, same with several other customers. I wonder if the sensor it self may be damaged or dead?

I know in the 2G's when using the resistor trick it doesn't hurt anything, because the sensor is only to monitor, it doesn't actually change any of the a/f tables or make the car run funny. The front sensor determines your closed loop values.

Thanks,

Michael

Mike,

Ive changed the sensor with and OEM one and also an aftermarket bosch sensor...the sensors are fine. When putting the sensor closer into the flow it will read cat inefficiency instead of low voltage...the rear o2 sensor doesnt affect any afr's like you said, so adding the sim should be as easy as cut, crimp, connect. What are the 2G's?
